Weekly Market Highlights #12: September 12 - September 18

✨The past seven days saw the successful transition of Ethereum's network from a Proof-of-Work consensus algorithm to one governed by Proof-of-Stake. The event was described by many as one of the most significant technical achievements in the industry and is put on par by importance with Bitcoin's halving. However, the total market has plummeted during the same period as many cryptocurrencies are falling in price.

✨Over the past week, the crypto market decreased ~$151B (from ~$1053B to ~$902B) of its total capitalization

✨Bitcoin Heads Towards $18K
✅BTC rebounded sharply before the date of the US CPI announcement, then fell below the $20K threshold at the time of The Merge and slightly recovered to the $20,1K area at the end of the week.
✅At dawn on September 19, Bitcoin suddenly plunged to $18,4K - its lowest price position in three months, dragging all altcoins "bleeding" at double digits

✨Altcoins Covered in Red:
✅BSCS is currently trading at ~$0,01157: +1,63% from its 7-day all-time low of $0,01138.
✅ETH is among the poorest performers, in contrast to what many expected after the Merge. It now struggles to remain above $1,300 after another 10% daily decline. ETH is down by more than $300 since the Merge took place.
✅BNB and TRX seem to be taking this retracement less violently, with drops of "just" 6.5% and 5%, respectively. XRP, ADA, DOT, SHIB, MATIC, AVAX, and UNI are all dumped by double-digits daily.

Weekly Market Highlights #13: September 19 - September 25

The cumulative market capitalization of all crypto assets is also quiet and has remained at just under ~$940B.

✨The US Federal Reserve (Fed) adjusting interest rates has profoundly affected the cryptocurrency market, leading to a series of major coins depreciating in the 3rd week of September 2022.

✨In a week that is expected to see fewer positive price changes, projects also refrain from releasing new news, leading to the main trend being regulatory news from the US regarding stablecoins and the securities nature of cryptocurrencies.

✨Over the past week, the crypto market increased ~$35B (from ~$902B to ~$937B) of its total capitalization

✨Bitcoin Quiet at $19K:
✅The primary cryptocurrency experienced a massive drop last week when the US Federal Reserve announced the latest hike in the key interest rates. Bitcoin, regarded as a riskier asset, plummeted by almost $2K hours to a three-month low of $18,1K.
✅BTC returned to $19K at the end of the working week and spent almost the entire weekend without any substantial moves in either direction. Monday started with some more volatility that pushed it south to $18,7K.

✨Altcoins had a volatile week, but most are significantly more stable now:
✅BSCS is currently trading at ~$0,01336: +15,86% from its 7-day all-time low of $0,01153
✅ETH dumped by more than 20% after the Merge was implemented, is now slightly in the green and stands above $1,3K.
✅Even though the Vasil upgrade went live a few days ago, ADA is also quite stagnant.
✅SOL and SHIB are with minor increases. In contrast, BNB, XRP, DOGE, DOT, MATIC, AVAX, and TRX are slightly declined.
✅LINK is the best performer among the larger and mid-cap altcoins. LINK is up by 5% today and trades at almost $8.

Weekly Market Highlights #14: September 26 - October 2

✨The cryptocurrency market ended a volatile September with a week that can be said to be calm when there was almost no price movement or news that had much impact on projects.

✨Over the past week, the crypto market decreased ~$9B (from ~$937B to ~$928B) of its total capitalization

✨Bitcoin to Face Enhanced Volatility?
✅Bitcoin continues to trade at around $19K, with little-to-no moves. However, the landscape can change later today as the US Financial Stability Oversight Council will have a meeting presided by Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.
"The preliminary agenda for the executive session includes an update from the staff of the Federal Reserve and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission on financial stability and energy market developments." – said the department.
✅Previously, such meetings from the US financial authorities brought enhanced volatility to the crypto market. Given that today's is an "emergency" one, there could be even more fluctuations.

✨Altcoins are bleeding lightly
✅BSCS is currently trading at ~$0,01331: +2,75% from its 7-day all-time low of $0,01294
✅After several bullish weeks with positive news regarding the legal case with the SEC. Today, XRP has declined by more than 7.5% to $0.44.
✅ETH, ADA, SOL, DOGE, DOT, SHIB, MATIC, TRX, and AVAX are now in the red, albeit with less harmful percentages. BNB is the only top 10 cryptocurrency slightly in the green.
✅The crypto market cap is down by about $15B in a day
