111वां बिहार दिवस

राज्य सरकार के कई विभागों ने 22 मार्च से शुरू होने वाले 111 वें बिहार दिवस के तीन दिवसीय उत्सव के दौरान सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों, प्रतियोगिताओं, पर्यटन और मजेदार गतिविधियों की एक श्रृंखला तैयार की है।

बिहार शिक्षा परियोजना परिषद बिहार दिवस की नोडल आयोजन एजेंसी है और इस वर्ष के उत्सव का विषय 'युवा शक्ति, बिहार की प्रगति' है।

बिहार दिवस हर साल 22 मार्च को बिहार राज्य के गठन को चिह्नित करने के लिए मनाया जाता है। इसी दिन अंग्रेजों ने 1912 में बंगाल से राज्य को अलग किया था।

नीतीश सरकार ने 2012 में बिहार दिवस मनाना शुरू किया था।

Several departments of the state government have lined up an array of cultural events, competitions, tours and fun activities during the three-day celebration of the 111th Bihar Diwas, which is slated to begin from March 22.

Bihar Education Project Council is the nodal organising agency of Bihar Diwas and the theme for this year's celebration is 'Yuva Shakti, Bihar Ki Pragti’.

Bihar Day is observed every year on March 22, marking the formation of the state of Bihar. It was on this day when the British carved out the state from Bengal in 1912.

The Nitish government started celebrating Bihar Diwas in 2010 to mark its centenary.

'Arsenic major cause of gallbladder cancer in Bihar'

A study jointly conducted by researchers and scientists from Bihar, New Delhi, Pune, University of Tokyo and University of Technology, Delft, the Netherlands and Canada found that arsenic is the major causative agent for gallbladder cancer (GBC) disease in Bihar.

The paper, published in the UK-based nature journal 'Scientific Reports' on March 14, found that GBC is prevalent in the Gangetic plains of Bihar, where the arsenic contamination in the exposed population is very high.

There is an urgent need to control the GBC disease burden by developing policies and guidelines that will alleviate arsenic exposure to the impacted populations.

530 sensors soon to monitor real-time air quality in Bihar

The state government, in collaboration with IIT-Kanpur, will install 530 air sensors for real-time air quality monitoring in Bihar. Currently, there are only 35 air sensors in Bihar.

Also, BSPCB and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 'State Level Air Pollution Source Apportionment Study' on this occasion. The study aims at accurately measuring city emissions and forecast, the sources and levels of pollution approximately three days in advance.

Dense sensor network (1400 nodes) in Bihar will be integrated with micro-satellite imagery using Machine Learning plus Artificial Intelligence (AI) model to explore their potential in predicting Particulate Matter (PM).
