‘Har Ghar Gangajal’ scheme
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday launched the ambitious 'Har Ghar Gangajal’ scheme, under which piped Ganga water will be supplied to every household, at Rajgir in Nalanda district.
In the first phase of the 4,000-crore scheme under the government's Jal, Jivan aur Harivali mission, two districts of Nalanda and Gaya will be covered for supply of Ganga water.
In the second phase, Ganga water will be reaching the adjoining Nawada district too.
About 7.5 lakh households in Nalanda, Gaya and the town of Bodh Gaya will start getting Ganga water from November 28. It is said to be the first of its kind project in the country to “store, treat and supply floodwaters of the Ganga” that the State receives every year during monsoon season, to the districts of Nalanda, Gaya and Nawada.

बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार ने रविवार को नालंदा जिले के राजगीर में महत्वाकांक्षी 'हर घर गंगाजल' योजना की शुरुआत की, जिसके तहत हर घर में पाइप से गंगा जल पहुंचाया जाएगा।

Geographical factors behind the air pollution in Bihar
A number of towns in Bihar have been on top of the list of most polluted urban areas in the country in recent days.
Causes behind the rise in AQI as per Bihar State Pollution Control Board:
Geography: The Indo-Gangetic Plain sites have high pollution because the Himalayas form a natural barrier to cleaner air in northern India. Cold air from the Himalayas prevents the warmer air dispersing north into Tibet. Besides, the burning of crops during October and November, coupled with slow winds from the northwest, push the polluted air into the plains of northern India.
Stubble burning: Agriculture stubble burning in Bihar has also jumped by up to 70% this month.
Measures suggested by BSPCB:
- Graded response action plan to control the local concentration of emissions
- Regular vehicle maintenance
- Minimisation of diesel generators

बिहार के कई कस्बे हाल के दिनों में देश के सबसे प्रदूषित शहरी क्षेत्रों की सूची में शीर्ष पर रहे हैं।
बिहार राज्य प्रदूषण नियंत्रण बोर्ड के अनुसार AQI में वृद्धि के कारण:

Bihar Liquor Law Rehab Programme
The Bihar Cabinet has approved a proposal for ₹1 lakh financial assistance for the members of poor families involved in the trade of liquor or toddy to ensure a thorough implementation of the prohibition law. The assistance was earlier meant for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes traditionally associated with the profession and was introduced when the prohibition came into force in 2016.
The assistance scheme was earlier limited to villages, it would now be implemented in urban areas as well and all cover classes and communities.
The Cabinet also approved a proposal to curtail the duration for auctioning movable and immovable properties confiscated under the prohibition law from 210 to 90 days.
बिहार शराब कानून पुनर्वास कार्यक्रम
बिहार मंत्रिमंडल ने शराब या ताड़ी के व्यापार में शामिल गरीब परिवारों के सदस्यों के लिए शराबबंदी कानून का पूरी तरह से कार्यान्वयन सुनिश्चित करने के लिए 1 लाख रुपये की वित्तीय सहायता के प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी दे दी है। यह सहायता पहले पारंपरिक रूप से पेशे से जुड़े अनुसूचित जाति और अनुसूचित जनजातियों के लिए थी और 2016 में निषेधाज्ञा लागू होने पर शुरू की गई थी।
