#CentralPA There haven't been any actions tonight. This has remained all peaceful and just a small public gathering at this point. This type of response by police is unnecessary.

#CentralPA Officers may not infringe on an individuals right to peacefully assemble and freedom of speech. Officers are brutalizing people by arresting them while peacefully assembled. Lancaster, we can show you what a non peaceful protest looks like, but tonight we showed you a peaceful one. You don't have to arrest press members. You don't have to use mass surveillance tools. You make our country look bad. Quit your jobs. These actions are unconstitutional and impede on individuals rights to freedom of assembly. By escalating these actions, you are pushing your civilians to take defensive measures to protect themselves. You do not want to escalate or Lancaster will look like the next Portland or Rochester. Let us peacefully assemble!

This is good news, but nowhere near good enough:
"#LOUISVILLE, Ky. - A settlement has been reached in a wrongful death civil lawsuit between the family of Breonna Taylor and the city of Louisville.
The deal includes $12 million for the family and "significant" police reforms, including new drug testing rules for LMPD officers, an incentive for officers to live in specific neighborhoods and a new level of scrutiny over search warrants."
...
"Crump, a national civil right attorney, said he believes $12 million is the largest settlement a city has ever paid out in a wrongful death lawsuit for a Black woman killed by police, possibly the most for any Black person, in the United States."
...
"Mayor Greg Fischer said this settlement does not admit wrongdoing, but acknowledges the need for reform." 😡

Lancaster Stands Up
This photo is of Taylor Enterline, staging a peaceful protest for racial justice in front of the Manheim Borough Police station this summer. A Lancaster judge just set her bail at one million dollars for participating as a medic in last night’s protests.

Our medics are our heros. Assaulting and arresting a medic or preventing them from performing their duties during crisis is an international war crime.
