It is very interesting to see Proud Boys geared up in protective gear despite them saying this was going to be a non violent rally

40 people and they call themselves the silent majority. Money doesn't buy you a movement.

Something very clear since Kyle took the lives of civilians in Kenosha is that many folks around the country now look at him like a hero. I want to point out that there isn't a left wing mass murderer being praised like this. These types of actions of mass shootings on the far right incites additional. Just like we have had Columbine copycats, there will be Kenosha copycats. There is a strong urge to go to war on the right. I condemn war. I am in this movement to end militarization of our communities. Police, militias, and the far right are pushing civilians who want nothing to do with war into a cold civil war. Kyle Rittenhouse killed 2 people after he illegally crossed state lines. His mother aided him in the crime by transporting a minor under age over state lines with the firearm. Invading militias would make any city more dangerous. Every part of Kyle Rittenhouse's involvement in Kenosha was illegal. But he won't be punished like Jacob Blake was. Jacob was breaking up a domestic dispute. He was stopping a fight. Kyle however claims to be defending property that wasn't his. Kyle claims to be in self defense. Shooting someone in the head for throwing a bottle at your invading army is not self defense. That is inequitable to the offense against him. Kenosha police let him go to run and flee out of state. Kyle is nobodies hero. Kyle almost started a civil war that nobody wants except for these reactionary racists.

Scanners just reported a call about a group fighting another group. Not sure if it is protest related.

Police are responding to a call about a highway blocked with tires. Somebody blocked a road (no location) with a pile of tires.

Despite Qanon and Proud Boy's involvement in the event. There are some real conversations about human trafficking happening. Fayetteville area has the highest concentration of human trafficking in the state of North Carolina. Some folks are genuinely there for to protest against human trafficking and not trying hide under an umbrella. The left does not protect human trafficking. Part of our platform is ending the carceral systems which play a vital role in the trafficking of labor. Many sex workers have been abused by the carceral system and police may legally solicit and r*** a sex worker to arrest them. These loophole has actually been used to charge women who were not sex workers and not just consenting sex workers. I also believe that labor trafficking should be included in the conversations about human trafficking. I believe there is a massive system of labor trafficking in the carceral system. I also think conversations about Pizzagate and Bill Clinton distract us from real human trafficking.

There was a demo in #Montreal today organized by queer bipoc coalitions calling for police abolition. Around 200-300 people showed up in the rain. The crowd succesfully toppled an often-vandalized John A. Macdonald statue, the first prime minister of Canada in 1867. Amongst other colonial projects, he was an architect of the genocidal residential schooling system and responsible for the hanging of Métis rebel Louis Riel.
It's the first statue that goes down in Montreal and it warms our collective spirits.

This flyer was circulated in the crowd as the statue fell and provides more background to the statue, it's legacy, and the action.
It also links to a petition to remove the statue, started this summer, which has received over 45,000 signatures but was never acted on by the city.

Folks on the ground, its time we normalize live streams again and teach live stream etiquette. We don't support live streaming protesters. We do support live streaming the police and their violence during events. We need folks to stream on twitch because when police shut off scanners and use encrypted networks, it is our best intel source for our RUST teams. RUST or Remote Uprising Support Teams are your official eyes on the sky monitoring from remote locations to assist those on the ground or in the areas of protest. Live streams help confirm the information we hear and help us get a better understanding of what is happening. We may be turned off by live streams by their usage to doxx protesters to police. But live streams are also helping our intel teams and documenting what happens when police and militia go to far. What is even better is being a live streamer gives you some extra legal protection while participating at protests. Help us watch the cops.

Also, twitch streamers can help raise funds for their local communities protests or your affinity group when subscribers donate. You can support your local activist chapters and fund encampments and medic groups by raising funds as a twitch streamer. Being an ethical live streamer has a huge role!

Think of live streaming as your legal right to spy and collect intelligence on police in public spaces. As long as you are in public space you cant be arrested for documentation. The whole point of being on a Remote Uprising Support Team is to be a functional intelligence system for demonstrators. Being journalists gives us certain rights to limited ability of espionage on police and militias in public. While filming a militia may be dangerous, filming police is absolutely our legal right and can help legally protect those on the ground.
