Sara Robinson, who documented this history in 2012, concluded, “We’re now living in an America where rampant inequality is accepted, even celebrated. Torture and extrajudicial killing have been reinstated, with no due process required. The wealthy and powerful are free to abuse employees, break laws, destroy the commons, and crash the economy — without ever being held to account.” Under this regime, the rich continually grow richer and the poor poorer, while the middle class grows steadily more insecure, demoralized, angry and often resentful. The rich feed white working-class and middle-class resentment by arguing that the government is taking white people’s “hard-earned money” and handing it to “undeserving” people of color. By this means, the rich convince many working-class whites to oppose social welfare programs and thus harm their own economic interests.

Various protesters in Portland are reaching out to us and are asking that people living close to Portland come there for solidarity and resistance against the tyrannical actions of the United States government.

Be careful that the United States government is most likely acting illegally and outside their jurisdiction in Portland. The US government and DHS have upped the ante of protesting, but this is exactly what the original documents of the constitution warned us about.

Don't let them succeed in vanishing people from the streets.

Portlanders, it's time to demand that your mayor and governor require law enforcement (local and state), to act as a defense against federal agents kidnapping your friends and family. It's time to tell them to defend the protesters and everyone else - not continue their battles with the protesters.

Demand that the police be required to police the feds, not the protesters.
