Both #BrooklynCenter and #Chicago have seen a prominent presence of swooping and peace-policing activity from "organizers" within the crowd tonight. In Chicago, the protest, despite having easily 400+ people remaining, has been convinced to return to its starting point and "peacefully disperse," much to the amazement of the cops on #scanner. In #BrooklynCenter, many protestors are arguing about whether or not someone should have been cutting some zipties on the sacred fence.

Suffice to say, in this admin's opinion, pleasing the police with compliance should not be the goal of an anti-police movement.

An arrest just happened in Chicago, and it looks like protestors have encircled the squad car and are tussling with police lines

This is why it's pointless to try to appease the police. Adam Toledo had his hands up when he was shot. Why would the cops care if the protest wanted to peacefully disperse? they know their role is to brutalize, arrest, murder, and control. And it's what they do, no matter how nice you treat them.
