The focus on Derek Chauvin's trial in Minneapolis is just the latest step in an ongoing concerted effort to make us forget the events of summer 2020, to make us forget everything that we can do together to stop police violence directly.

The courts will never deliver justice. The trial is only a matter for national conversation in the first place because of the #GeorgeFloydRebellion.
The youth of Minneapolis showed us how to abolish the police.

Some news you may have missed...
Olympia is currently trying to choose a new chief of police, the process has been out on pause because independent journalists took two seconds to do a google search and find use of force complaints against 2 of the 4 candidates that the background checkers the city paid 40,000$ for couldnt find. One of those candidates is OPD Sgt Amy King who was repremanded in 2016 for pulling out her gun during a meeting as part of a joke about a mentally ill person.

In gentrification news, the city made a back door deal to sell the west bay warehouse area to a developer to build apartments, none of which will be affordable but its okay because theyre donating a whopping 250k to the cities useless affordable housing program. The city council obv didnt negotiate at all and all but one city council member voted yes on it. All this is going to do is raise rent more, raise policing more, push out our houseless neighbors more, and make the city more livable for developers and gentrifiers instead of the poor people who have called olympia home. Also the west bay warehouse area is incredibly cool, it has a lot of good graffiti and wed encourage ppl to check it out.
