35% of active managers are outperforming, meaning 65% have UNDERPERFORMED bc they were so offsides this whole year.
they have 3 months to try and catch up, they usually do this by slamming the bid on laggards. One of the biggest laggards relative to tech has ben crypto which has mostly jsut chopped around and declined for months and it looks like its breaking out just getting momentum. I wouldn't be surprised to see an it catch that inst. bid -"gov shutdown, increasing dollar distrust, etc" - many excuses to justify slamming the bid rn without saying "i need to chase momentum bc im underperforming"

i think this is partly why crypto started getting weak a few days back, new prim minister of japan not wanting the boj to continue rate hikes and cut instead. it's why the yen got slammed and the dollar ramped which probably contributed to putting some pressure on btc
BOJ also has to hike rates bc of the inflation japans facing, its almost the opposite of our situation (US) - stopping rate hikes and starting to cut makes inflationary pressures a lot worse bc japans mostly an import economy so prices are not only rising bc of inflation but ppls purchasing power would be crushed by a weaker yen which would obv be bad for the economy. that's prob part of whats lead to asia's sessions to be weak in recent days
what u want is boj hiking which strengthens the yen, ppl have more purchasing power to combat inflationary pressures and then the strengthening yen also puts pressure on the dollar making it weaker (trump also wants the weaker dollar to make reshoring manufacturing attractive to corporates as well as foreign companies like how tsm's been building factories here)

interesting bid on TAO just now - its was breaking back down into the wedge and that bid just reversed it to try and break it out. Felt purposeful. HTF charts kind of wild

anyone know the tao catalyst? am going to look into it a little. Only longed last night bc that bid flow felt to purposeful/calculated to be random and something felt like it was going on

Alts- it feels like alot of the alts alr shed alot w/most going down since end of july. for ex. rn if this was last week with eth down 3%+, alts would be -7-15% depending and instantly. - PUMP turbo ran with sol, so its getting that 2x+ downside correlation…
didn't want to write twice (lazy lol)

On a 30% VIX move:
-Btc's down relatively "inline" with stock indices vs. 2x+ more down
- Alts are down relatively the same as indv stocks and down less than some of the really frothy ones.
- Alts are down relatively inline with alt majors like eth/sol…

you don't fall like that and instantly recover with everything ok. Something broke, it can get worse before it gets better, be very careful. give it time to see how everything digests over the coming days before making any moves
