💞 Rapport Strengthening Strategies 💞
People will often decide if they like you or not within the first 30 seconds upon meeting you❗️
During this time they size up the geography of your face, the way you are dressed, how you talk, smell, present yourself, the amount of eye contact (or lack of it) you give, and maybe most importantly the quality of your handshake.
What to Do!
✅ Admit to Personal Mistakes
✅ Admit Errors in Thinking
To admit these minor errors in thinking you must display to other people three important things:
🔱 That you are not perfect.
🔱 That you are just like them (imperfect).
🔱 That you have trusting emotional human qualities.
✅ Ignore People’s Minor Social Mishaps
✅ Use People’s Names
✅ Smile Sincerely and Often
✅ See the Other Person’s Point of View
✅ Arouse People’s Eager Wants
✅ Fulfill People’s Lacking Needs
✅ Accept People without Condition
✅ Become Genuinely Interested in People
✅ Give People Honest and Sincere Appreciation
✅ Acknowledge People’s Ideas and Accomplishments
✅ Make People Feel Important, Respected and Admired
What Not to Do!
🚫 Don’t Make Promises You Can’t Keep
🚫 Don’t Flatter People
🚫 Don’t Play Favorites with People
🚫 Don’t Play a Victim to Gain Sympathy
🚫 Don’t Be a Know-it-all
🚫 Don’t Argue Unnecessarily
Mirroring and Matching Tactics
💠 Mirror People’s Handshake
💠 Seek to Establish Similarity
✅ Match Patterns of Behavior, Thinking and Speaking
✅ Match Personal Beliefs, Values and Opinions
✅ Match Physiology
✅ Match Appearance in Clothing and Grooming
✅ Match Education and Lifestyle
