As we prepare to close the curtain on the Azuro Testnet and move to mainnet in April, we are making the switch from Rinkeby ETH to Gnosis Testnet.

The switch has officially went live. Rinkeby will be defunct and you will be placing all bets on Gnosis Testnet.

We have created a setup guide for adding the "Sokol" Gnosis Testnet to MetaMask. It is all fairly straight forward but if you're having issues, please reach out to us on Discord.

Our peer-to-pool liquidity design, dubbed "The Liquidity Tree", is at the cutting edge of smart-contract innovation, building an approach to prediction markets that will make them work efficiently at scale.

💥🌲Azuro - Introducing "The Liquidity Tree" 💥🌲

We're excited to finally announce a giant leap forward in the architecture of Azuro, today we introduce "The Liquidity Tree" 🌲

The prediction market model you are used to is known as "Peer-To-Peer", what is Peer-To-Peer? It involves a market maker creating a market, seeding the liquidity and pricing the market. This is what all past attempts at prediction markets have done.
It is essentially no different to how traditional bookmakers operate. As we have seen in the past, this design is flawed, inefficient and doesn't scale well - Which is why past attempts (Augur, Gnosis, PolyMarket) never took off.

The solution? Peer-To-Pool

Peer-To-Pool is how Azuro functions. It breaks down the market maker role into 3 distinct roles:

Market Pricing (Odds provision)
Market Creation (Oracles)
Liquidity (Liquidity Providers)

Although this sounds simple, it is not and current liquidity pool designs couldn't solve the problem associated with this model - So we built our own.

"The Liquidity Tree":

Is the first of it's kind, tailor-made, bespoke solution to liquidity pools. The Liquidity Tree name is inspired by a well-known data structure in Computer Science known as Segment Tree, which we utilize for the data in the new liquidity pool design.

The result is a decentralized betting solution with near limitless liquid betting markets, feature rich environment that rival any traditional sports book and UX that will show clearly defined odds for bettors.

The Liquidity Tree is a new piece of open-source code that Azuro hopes will become a popular household name similar to the AMM (Uniswap, 1nch, QuickSwap) and will fuel the birth of specialized prediction markets.

Azuro is the base layer for decentralized betting. A piece of open-source code which enables independent Liquidity Providers, Data Providers & Oracles to interact at the protocol level.

Data Providers deliver a feed with initial betting odds, Oracles import the priced markets on-chain, then these markets receive parts of the liquidity from the Liquidity Pool, where LPs have put money.
Then, the user experience and the environment where bettors bet can be delivered by independent Frontend Operators (apps, websites, widgets, etc.).

Our code has undergone audits by 2 auditing companies (Hacken & Pessimistic Labs), white hackers, helpers (like Whitejar.io), partners (like Gnosis) and we’ve been running a bug bounty program with ImmuneFi for a while.

These are exciting times for decentralized betting. We hope that a rich, fun betting environment with decreased cost of service to players, full transparency, community-run by the Azuro DAO and with a commitment to responsibility will emerge around Azuro protocol’s innovation.
