π¨ Breaking: A number of recent NYUAD admits have reportedly received emails stating that their admission offers are being withdrawn because the university has been βunable to secure the necessary travel authorization.β
At this point, it is unclear whether NYUADβs official email was hacked, this was a prank, or this is simply a very poorly worded message. We have reached out to the NYUAD admissions team for clarification.
This story is still developing. Will share more updates as they come.

Today, we had a "Global education" session and I would like to share some insights
Study abroads and J-terms can be done in roughly 15 locations, each with a local university partnership: Paris, Madrid, Tel Aviv, Berlin, Washington DC, Sydney, and so on.
J-terms usually last 4-8 weeks, and they are intensive, research-based. J-term is "required," and 100% of students will do it. It might be in Abu Dhabi too. The good thing is there is no competition for J-terms. You just fill your courses.
Semester abroad programs vary depending on the major, but they last 1-2 semesters (4-8 months!) For engineering, the best-rated places are NYU and Tulsa. There are some requirements, including a high GPA, projects, and so on.
You don't just study abroad but also build your degree across the countries. In fact, 1/4 of all the NYUAD students are always spread worldwide, doing J-terms and study abroad programs.
It's also important to "be comfortable with being uncomfortable" during the process, how they describe it.
