The ECO Council of Permanent Representatives (CPR) held its first meeting of 2023, on January 11 under the Chairmanship of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

As per ECO`s rules and procedures Republic of Azerbaijan assumed ECO Chairmanship from January 2023 and accordingly the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan to ECO, H.E. Mr. Ali Alizada took over his responsibilities as CPR Chairman.

The ECO Secretary General, Ambassador Khusrav Noziri while thanking the Republic of Uzbekistan for its support to the Organization and extending sincere gratitude to H.E. Ambassador Bakhodir Abdullaev for his able chairmanship of the Council during 2022, congratulated H.E. Ambassador Ali Alizada on his inauguration as the new Chairman of the CPR. Secretary General expressed confidence that vast experience and knowledge of Ambassador Alizada will be quite valuable for the Council in accelerating its activities for greater regional cooperation in 2023, the year of Green Transformation and Interconnectivity, as proclaimed by the Chairmanship of Azerbaijan.
