NASA scientist Michael David Hicks has died, raising concerns about national security.

59-year-old Michael David Hicks, a longtime researcher at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, died under unexplained circumstances, with the cause of death and autopsy results not being made public. Hicks, the author of more than 80 scientific papers on comets and asteroids, is the ninth high-ranking American scientist involved in space or nuclear programs who has mysteriously died or disappeared in recent years, including three of his close colleagues, which is causing concern among national security experts.
