Split Dimensions in AutoCAD 2016 #tips #dimension #gif
No Lisp routine needed for this functionality – If you have an existing dimension, you can pull a dimension that meets at the original dimension line and be prompted on how to handle the result. And one of the options is to split the dimension.
AutoCAD
Rotate with the Reference option to Align #rotate #align
Here’s how:

1. ROTATE <enter> ( or RO <enter>) to start the rotate command
2. Select the object(s) to rotate <enter>
3. R <enter> to start the Reference option
4. Click 2 points on the object that is to be rotated. This basically sets the relative angle to zero.
5. P <enter> for the “Points” option
6. Click 2 points on the reference object. This will set the new rotation angle for the object that is to be rotate.
AutoCAD
#autocad_2017 #align #command
The Align command lets you orientate, position and even scale objects in relation to another. Previously I would have used Copy Rotate, Rotate by Reference or even Scale by Reference. Align can do all of these, in a simple command.

An example of this command and how it can be used is shown in the GIF animation below:
