THE OBLIGATION TO COMMAND GOOD AND FORBID EVIL

Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said:

"The Shaytan has misled most people by beautifying for them the performance of certain voluntary acts of worship such as voluntary prayers and voluntary fasting while neglecting other obligatory acts of worship such as enjoining the good and eradicating the evil, to the extent that they do not even make the intention of performing them whenever they are able to. Such people are considered by the scholars to be on the bottom of the scale of religion; for the essence of our religion is to perform what ALLĀH ordered us to do. The one who does not perform his obligations is actually worse than the one who performs sins.

Anyone having some knowledge about the revelation of ALLĀH, the guidance of the Prophet (ﷺ) and the life of the companions would conclude that those who are pointed at today as the most pious people are in fact the least pious. Indeed, what kind of piety is there in a person who witnesses ALLĀH's sanctities being violated, his religion abandoned, the Sunnah of HIS Messenger (ﷺ) shunned, and yet remains still with a cold heart and a shut mouth. Such a person is like a dumb Shaytān! In the same way the one who talks falsehood is a speaking Shaytān."

Shaykh Al-Albaani said,

"Knowledge is the vehicle for action and when a person learns and his knowledge is absolutely clear and then he does not act upon it, then it is extremely obvious that this knowledge will not bear any fruits. Thus it is necessary that the action be linked with this knowledge."

Beautiful Hadith about The Nobel Qura'an :)
Narrated Anas ibn Malik:
The Prophet Muhammad (sallallaho alayhi wasallum) said:
"A believer who recites the Qura'an is like a citron whose fragrance is sweet and whose taste is sweet, a believer who does not recite the Qura'an is like a date which has no fragrance but has sweet taste, a profligate who recites the Qura'an is like basil whose fragrance is sweet but whose taste is bitter, and the profligate who does not recite the Qura'an is like the colocynth which has a bitter taste and has not fragrance. A good companion is like a man who has musk; if nothing of it goes to you, its fragrance will (certainly) go to you; and a bad companion is like a man who has bellows; if its (black) root does not go to you, its smoke will (certainly) go to you."
-- (Sunan Abi Dawud, Book 43, Hadith 57)

We have Muslims who pray five times a day and cheat in business. Muslims who go for Umrah and come back and cut family ties. Muslims who cry in Ramadan and oppress their wives in Shawwal. Rituals without transformation is not deen. It is habit.

The Power of a Parent’s Duʿāʾ

One of the most remarkable stories about a parent’s supplication for their child is what has been narrated about Al-Fudayl ibn Iyad رحمه الله.

He once made a heartfelt duʿāʾ for his son ʿAlī, saying:

“O Allah, I have tried my best to discipline and raise ʿAlī, but I could not fully succeed. So discipline him for me.”

Allah answered his duʿāʾ.

His son, ʿAlī, grew to become among the righteous and the scholars of Islam—so much so that some scholars considered him even greater than his father in worship and humility before Allah.

Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak رحمه الله said:

“The best of people is Al-Fudayl… and even better than him is his son, ʿAlī.”

A reflection for us today:

Sometimes you give your best as a parent.
You advise, teach, guide, correct.
Yet you still feel something is missing.

This story reminds us of a powerful truth:

What you cannot fix with effort, you can transform with duʿāʾ.

Do not underestimate the quiet moments when you raise your hands for your children.
Do not lose hope when you don’t see immediate change.
Hearts are not in our control, but they are always in Allah’s control.

A practical step you can start tonight:

Choose one sincere moment—during your salah, upon Iftar, or while you are in the masjid—
and make a specific duʿāʾ for your child by name.

Not general, but personal.

“O Allah, guide my son or daughter.
O Allah, protect their heart.
O Allah, make so Hafidh (memorize) the Quraan
O Allah, help me to help my son quit smoking”

Then be consistent.
Because sometimes, the duʿāʾ you make today
is the transformation you will witness years later.

Never stop planting seeds with duʿāʾ.

Like, share, and follow the page to spread benefit.

You can be successful, respected, and admired by people… but if you’ve failed your parents, you’ve missed something huge.

They carried you before you could walk, fed you before you could earn, and loved you when you had nothing to offer in return.

Now roles reverse… and suddenly patience becomes “too much,” calls become “later,” and time becomes “when I’m free.”

Allah didn’t just recommend kindness to parents — He placed it right after His worship.
Not just obedience… but ihsaan — excellence.

Lower your voice.
Watch your tone.

Show up for them — not when it’s convenient, but when it matters. Because one day, that door will close… and no amount of regret will bring it back.

This ruling applies to the person paying for the Udhiya.

Not the whole family.
So if your husband or father is the one offering the sacrifice, the restriction is on him. Not on you.

this includes:
Cutting hair anywhere on the body
Trimming nails

Because you’re in a state similar to the pilgrim in ihram.

Dhul Hijjah is almost here.

💬 I came across this quote:

❝Sometimes, the most sincere prayers are found in the hospitals.❞

Sadly, this has become the state of a lot of Muslims. Only when their loved ones are sick that they start supplicating sincerely and earnestly. Then they start bargaining with Allaah. “O Allaah! Save my child, and I will do such-and-such.” “O Allaah! Save my father, and I will feed the poor.”

Like the Kuffaar, who, when they were at sea, and the waves became strong and they feared drowning, they would sincerely supplicate to Allaah to save them. Otherwise, they did not bother.

This reminds about the Prophet’s ﷺ warning that the first thing that will be raised from this Ummah is Khushoo.

The Messenger ﷺ said:
أول شيء يرفع من هذه الأمة الخشوع حتى لا ترى فيها خاشعا
❝The very first thing to be raised from this Ummah is Khushoo
(awe, fear of Allaah) until there is not a single person in it with khushoo.❞
📚 [Saheeh al-Jaami
(2569) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

He ﷺ also said:
أوَّلُ ما يُرْفَعُ مِنَ الناسِ الخشوعُ
❝The first thing to be raised from the people is Khushoo.❞
📚 [Saheeh al-Jaami
(2576) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

When we say “TO PRAY WITH KHUSHOO” it means to perform the Ṣalaah with complete submission, devotion, humility, tranquility (a state of peace and calmness, free from worldly distractions), in the state of being god-fearing. We lack this badly, except those whom Allaah has mercy upon.

🔥 The Complainers:

1️⃣ A lot of people start complaining if the Imaam exceeds 45 mins while leading Taraaweeh. But these same people will have no issues in running for 90 mins while playing football, or exercising for more than an hour in the gym.

2️⃣ A lot of us can't spare 15 mins a day to recite the Qur’aan, while we have no issues in scrolling for hours on our phone.

3️⃣ A lot of people will fill the stadiums, but they won't fill the Masaajid.

4️⃣ They have time to watch movies in theaters, and shows on TVs, but no time or enthusiasm to learn the basics of their Deen.

⚡️ It's all about mind over matters:

The mental willpower can control physical and emotional limitations. By controlling thoughts and reactions, one can overcome pain, or difficult situations.

“If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.” But if you start nitpicking, then the routine becomes a burden, the easy becomes difficult, and the achievable becomes impossible.

👉 Last year (1446H), I came across an uncle, may Allaah preserve him upon goodness, who completed the recitation of the Qur’aan 11 times in Ramaḍhaan. He would recite the Qur’aan from Asr till Maghrib. Then after Maghrib till Ishaa. Then after Taraaweeh till Qiyaam al-Layl. The only time I saw him pause was at Iftaar time. Even between Adhaan and Iqaamah he would be reciting the Qur’aan.

👉 Then I saw couple of brothers who, in the last 10 nights, stood in prayers for hours every night. Each of their two Raka
ah prayer would be an hour long, with long Qiyaam, long Rukoo, and long Sujood.

They reminded of the Ḥadeeth of Ḥuthaifah رضي الله عنه that the Prophet ﷺ prayed Surah al-Baqarah, aal-
Imraan, and al-Nisaa' in one night. And his ﷺ Rukoo` ans Sujood were as long as his Qiyaam. [See Saheeh Muslim]

HONESTY IN BARGAINING IS A CAUSE FOR BLESSING

Hakim Ibn Hizam (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) narrated that ALLĀH'S Messenger (ﷺ) said,

"The seller and the buyer have the right to keep or return goods as long as they have not parted or till they part; and if both the parties spoke the truth and described the defects and qualities (of the goods), then they would be blessed in their transaction, and if they told lies or hid something, then the blessings of their transaction would be lost."

📚 Al-Bukhārī #2079; Muslim #1532

LESSONS AND BENEFITS:

● The option to annul the contract while still in the place of transaction (known as "option of session") is established for both the seller and the buyer.

● This option remains valid from the time of the contract until they physically separate.

● Once they separate from the session of the contract, the sale becomes binding.

● The importance of truthfulness in buying and selling.

● That worldly success is only complete through righteous deeds, and that the evil consequences of sins can remove both worldly and afterlife blessings.

● The virtue of honesty, the encouragement to be truthful, and that it is a cause of barakah in a person’s earnings.

● The condemnation of lying, the encouragement to avoid it, and the fact that it removes barakah from one’s wealth.

● That working for the Hereafter brings benefit in both this life and the next.

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said,
"Every harm that enters upon a servant, its cause is the heart's corruption. The corruption of the heart in turn brings about the removal of the heart's share (of protection) from Allah, the Exalted, and a diminution of its degree and rank in the sight of Allah."

[The Path to Guidance, pg. 10]
Reminder :

the first of dhul Hijjah will be the 18 of May and what u should do in that day starting from fajr prayer : mainly dhikr /fasting if u can and read Quran

Tasbīḥ (saying Subḥān Allāh), Taḥmīd (saying Alḥamdulillāh), and Takbīr (saying Allāhu Akbar).

The unrestricted remembrance (adh-dhikr al-muṭlaq) begins from the Fajr prayer on the 1st of Dhul-Hijjah:

“Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. There is no god except Allah. Allah is the Greatest, and to Allah belongs all praise.”

There is no problem if it is said three times; there is no issue with that.

The restricted remembrance (adh-dhikr al-muqayyad) begins from the start of the day of Eid, after the end of the prayer, until the last days of Tashrīq.

The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are among the greatest seasons of worship. The Prophet ﷺ emphasized their virtue when he said:

“There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.”
They asked, “Not even jihad in the cause of Allah?”
He replied, “Not even jihad in the cause of Allah, except for a man who went out with his life and wealth and returned with nothing.”
— [Reported by al-Bukhari]

They are a golden opportunity that must be seized through all kinds of acts of devotion and righteous deeds for the sake of Allah تعالى.

So let each of us have a share of fasting, remembrance of Allah, night prayer, charity, and kindness.

The days are few, but the rewards are multiplied… so who will rise to the occasion? 💪

Everything in life happens by the will and wisdom of Allah. 🌙
Sometimes we worry about the future, overthink delays, or question why certain things happen to us. But Allah has already written a beautiful destiny for every soul. What is meant for you will arrive at the perfect time, and what misses you was never meant to stay.

Trusting Allah’s plan brings peace to the heart. Even when life feels uncertain, remember that Allah sees the full picture while we only see a small part of it. Every blessing, every hardship, every delay, and every answered prayer is part of a greater plan designed with wisdom and mercy. Keep your faith strong, continue making dua, and never lose hope in Allah’s timing. 🤍

“And put your trust in Allah, for Allah is sufficient as a Guardian.” — Quran 33:3

If you expect a Da'ee to be perfect or if you are surprised when they fall into sin, then sadly you do not know the reality of the world we live in, or even the reality of man.

There is not a single caller after the messenger of Allah (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam) who has not fallen short, either in small things or on great issues. This is because all of the children of Adam commit sins - the brothers who give da'wah included.

Sadly, some people expect the duaat to be perfect or close to that. In reality, the duaat are often those with the biggest trials and temptations going on. We live in a time of celebrity culture; if the local brother who posts a few ayaat and ahadith is facing trials from the opposite sex then imagine the internationally recognised brother. This is not a justification, rather something that we should bear in mind.

Likewise if the brother is helping or advising someone, sadly this can often lead to feelings developing from one or both sides. If someone assists you at a difficult time in life, it is very easy to fall for that person. This isn't a love story, this is reality.

Yes, there is a certain level of conduct that is expected from a person in the field of dawah, but we should not have impossibly high expectations nor should we be overly harsh if he/she falls short - why? Because he is only human. He will make mistakes. However, If he is abusing his position and has a methodology of deceit and taking advantage of vulnerable people then yes, something must be done.

Otherwise, what is distasteful and unjust is this "exposing" culture that has developed. A da'ee falls short and suddenly we have "exposed" videos and reactions all over the internet. This is followed by people feasting on his flesh and honour like a pack of hyenas. Perhaps Allah is expiating his sin by replacing it with good deeds from those who backbite him.

There is also a very harsh reality which we must accept. It takes TWO hands to clap. The brother fell short because the other side was reciprocating and was involved in the sin JUST AS MUCH as he was. BOTH are human and both fell into the mistake, and the door to taubah is open for BOTH of them.

It is therefore not correct and very unjust to devour someone's honour for a mistake which could potentially destroy his dawah - particularly if he is giving dawah to the correct understanding. Who is the ultimate loser if this brothers dawah is ruined based on a shortcoming? The muslims who could have benefitted from his works.

Therefore any action should be taken after having weighed the potential benefits and harms of both remaining silent and "exposing". Sadly, many people just aren't able to do this and thus their actions end up causing more harm than benefit.

Once again, the emphasis is on JUSTICE. The person who has fallen short but is upon the Sunnah is not like the one who has a methodology of abuse and manipulation.

Also, we must use common sense. If a marriage ends in divorce then will the two individuals be best friends and have lovely things to say about one another? Of course not! They will both know each other's intimate faults and shortcomings - to then blow these wide open is not only wrong, it is ridiculous.

May Allah guide me and all those giving dawah and may He forgive us for our many sins, both open and private.

May Allaah accept your Hajj if you are performing it this year. Take this opportunity seriously, do your best to get a Hajj Mabrur. There is no worse feeling than regret, and with the prices of Hajj tickets, you most likely won’t be able to perform it again. Treat it like a treasure.

Prophet ﷺ said,

"Whoever performs Hajj for Allah's pleasure and does not have sexual relations with his wife, and does not do evil or sins then he will return (after Hajj free from all sins) as if he were born anew."

Subhanallah, you have the chance for a fresh start, don’t let yourself down by corrupting your ibadah with things that are not beneficial.

The Messenger ﷺ also mentions it is Jihad for the woman, and it is quite challenging at times, but you’ll pull through.

They’ve made it very easy now الحمد لله for people to perform it: trains between different sites, comfy beds, sleeping bags etc. so if you are nervous, don’t be إن شاء الله. Once you’re there you realise there’s really not that much to it compared to when you read about it in books.

You have the journey of a lifetime ahead of you
تقبل الله منكم.

Fir‘awn, with all his armies and power, was destroyed by water.

The people of ‘Ād, who were known for their immense strength, were destroyed by a violent wind.

Abraha came with elephants to destroy the Ka‘bah, yet Allah destroyed him with birds carrying stones.

And Qarun was swallowed by the earth along with his wealth and pride.

No tyrant is too powerful for Allah.
No oppressor is beyond His reach.
And no force on earth can stand against His decree when His command comes.

Allah destroys falsehood in ways people could never imagine. Sometimes through water. Sometimes through wind. Sometimes through the weakest of means.

So do not let the power of falsehood deceive you, nor the small number of people upon truth make you doubt.

What matters is not how strong falsehood appears today, but whether you remain firm upon the truth when trials surround you.

﴿بَلۡ نَقۡذِفُ بِٱلۡحَقِّ عَلَى ٱلۡبَٰطِلِ فَيَدۡمَغُهُۥ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٞ﴾

“Rather, We strike the truth against falsehood, and it destroys it, and thereupon falsehood departs.”

*Virtues and Blessings of the First Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah*

These are the best days of the year.
Just as there are special seasons for trade in which merchants seek maximum profit, similarly these are the days of worship. Gather as many rewards as possible.
Every kind of righteous deed performed during these days is beloved and dear to Allah.
1️⃣ Allah’s Oath by These Days
Allah Almighty says:
“By the dawn, and by the ten nights.”
(Surah Al-Fajr)
Imam Ibn Kathir (رحمه الله), quoting Ibn Kathir and referencing Sahih al-Bukhari, explains that these ten nights refer to the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.
2️⃣ Deeds in These Days Are Most Beloved
Narrated by Ibn Abbas that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.”
The companions asked: “Not even jihad in the way of Allah?”
He replied:
“Not even jihad in the way of Allah, except for the person who goes out with his wealth and life and returns with nothing.”
(Bukhari)
3️⃣ Increase in Tasbeeh, Tahmeed, and Takbeer
Narrated by Ibn Umar that the Prophet ﷺ said:
“There are no days greater in the sight of Allah and no days in which deeds are more beloved to Him than these ten days. Therefore, recite abundantly: SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illAllah, Allahu Akbar.”
(Tabarani)
4️⃣ The Prophet’s Extra Effort in Worship
Sa'id ibn Jubayr narrated from Ibn Abbas that the Prophet ﷺ would strive intensely in righteous deeds during these ten days.
(Darimi)
According to Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani, one reason is that Hajj — one of the pillars of Islam — is performed during these days.
🌺 Recommended Acts of Worship 🌺
1️⃣ Sincere Repentance and Seeking Forgiveness
Allah changes sins into good deeds for those who repent sincerely.
(Surah Al-Furqan, verse 70)
Hadith:
“The one who repents from sin is like one who never sinned.”
(Ibn Majah)
Another Hadith:
Satan said:
“By Your honor, O Lord, I will continue misleading Your servants as long as their souls remain in their bodies.”
Allah replied:
“By My honor and majesty, I will continue forgiving them as long as they seek My forgiveness.”
(Sahih al-Jami)
2️⃣ Give Charity Frequently
Increase in charity and helping others during these days.
3️⃣ Recite Durood Sharif Frequently
Send abundant blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ.
4️⃣ Fasting the First Nine Days
It is recommended to fast during the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah.
The wives of the Prophet ﷺ narrated that he used to fast these days.
(Nasa’i)
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever fasts one day in the path of Allah, Allah will distance him from Hellfire by seventy years.”
(Bukhari & Muslim)
5️⃣ Remember Allah Frequently
Allah says:
“The remembrance of Allah is the greatest.”
(Surah Al-Ankabut: 45)
And:
“For men and women who remember Allah كثيرا (abundantly), Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward.”
(Surah Al-Ahzab: 35)
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Saying: SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illAllah, Allahu Akbar is more beloved to me than everything upon which the sun rises.”
(Muslim)
Another Hadith:
“Two phrases are light on the tongue, heavy on the scale, and beloved to Allah: SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi, SubhanAllahil Azeem.”
(Bukhari & Muslim)
6️⃣ Observe Voluntary Prayers Along with Obligatory Prayers
Ishraq prayer carries the reward of a complete Hajj and Umrah. (Tirmidhi)
Twelve rak‘ahs daily build a house in Paradise. (Muslim)
Tahajjud leads to Paradise in peace. (Ibn Majah)
In a Hadith Qudsi, Allah says:
“My servant continues drawing near to Me through voluntary deeds until I love him.”
(Bukhari)
7️⃣ Recitation of the Qur’an
Recite the Qur’an abundantly during these days.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever goes to the mosque to learn or teach goodness receives the reward of a complete Hajj.”
(Sahih al-Targhib)
And:
“The Qur’an will come on the Day of Judgment as an intercessor for its reciters.”
(Muslim)
These narrations show how blessed and valuable these days are.
Whoever could not increase in worship during Ramadan now has another great opportunity to perform righteous deeds abundantly.
May Allah grant us all the ability to do good and accept our deeds. Ameen.
🤲 Times When Duas Are Accepted
1-The last part of the night (Bukhari)
2-Between Adhan and Iqamah (Tirmidhi)
3-During prostration (Sajdah)

The heart in its journey towards Allah! Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, is like a bird whose head is love, while fear and hope are its two wings.

When the head and the two wings are sound and healthy the flight of the bird is good, but when the head is cut off, it immediately dies, and when either or both wings are deficient, the bird cannot properly fly and may become victim of any hunter or snare.

The righteous predecessors preferred to strengthen the wing of fear during good times when heedlessness is feared, and to
strengthen the wing of hope at times of calamity and when near death.

Some have said that it is better to strengthen fear more than hope because when vain hopes overcome a person he is ruined. Others say that the best of situation is a complete balance of hope and fear with overwhelming love, for love is composite while
hope is a sharpener and fear a driver.
(Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim, Madarij As- Salikeen, pg-6)
