My brothers, if you are incapable of performing Hajj one year, then resort to making Jihad against your soul. For it is the greatest Jihad.

Or if you are restricted from performing ritual acts, then slaughter on behalf of those who were left behind as much as you are able. For indeed, the spilling of blood is a consolation for the one who has been restricted.

And do not shave your religion by sins. For indeed, sins shave one's religion. They don't shave the hair. And stand before Allฤh in hope, fear and honesty. He who is distant from the sacred House of Allฤh , let him not distance himself by way of sins from Allฤhโ€™s mercy.

For indeed, the mercy of Allฤh is nearer to the one who repents to Him and seeks His forgiveness. He who was incapable of performing Hajj to the House or the House of Allฤh is distant from him, let him focus himself upon the Lord of the House.

For indeed, he who supplicates to Him and has hope for what is with Him, then He is nearer to him than his jugular vein.

"BECOMING... not SEEKING

Some men say, "How hard it is to find a righteous woman in this era." And some women also say, "How hard it is to find a righteous man these days." Maybe the statement above is true, although not absolute. However, what's more important is how good it would be if we directed that statement to ourselves first before saying it to others. "Have I become a righteous man? Have I become a righteous woman?"

Sometimes we're too busy judging others that we forget to judge ourselves. We're too busy SEEKING someone who we think is righteous. We're too busy SEEKING someone who's good. Meanwhile, we forget to strive to BECOME a righteous person ourselves.

A question should arise, "Are we worthy of hoping to get a righteous partner?" The answer lies within ourselves. Don't dream of getting a righteous woman if you're not yet able to become a righteous man. Don't dream of getting a righteous man if you're not yet able to become a righteous woman.

Why keep SEEKING? Why not BECOME? Don't seek what's good; become the best. Don't seek a righteous person; become a righteous woman. Don't seek a righteous man; become a righteous man. Because even if we seek, if we ourselves don't become, Allah won't give.

However, if we become, without seeking,Allah has already prepared, because when it comes to a partner, Allah will give according to our personality and level of faith. The more we seek perfection, the more we won't get it, because true perfection doesn't exist; what exists is the sincerity of our hearts to accept imperfection.

Realize that what we get today is the best according to Allah..and never doubt, because that realization will make us..."

Misplaced priorities:

โ€œGetting famous helps in the cause of spreading the Dawahโ€

This is the mindset of many who are involved in the field of โ€œDa
wahโ€.

What they are forgetting isโ€ฆ

๐Ÿšซ 1) โ€ฆthat Allaah is Rich and free of all wants while we are poor and in need of His help. And if we divert from our responsibilities and become disobedient, Allaah will easily replace us with someone who will not be like us. [Surah Muhammad]

๐Ÿšซ 2) โ€ฆthat on the Day of Judgment, there will be Prophets who will have many followers, some Prophets will have a few followers, some will have one or two followers, and some will have no followers. [Saheehain]

๐Ÿ“‘ Note:
โžก Islaam is not in need of us for it to grow, rather, we are in need Islaam to be successful.

โžก Having a small number of followers does not mean that one is a failure. Similarly, having a large number of followers does not mean success.

WHAT ARE YOU LIVING FOR?
For fancy cars, luxurious homes, high status and power? These things may impress the eyes of people, but they hold no weight in the eyes of Allฤh unless they are used in service of His pleasure.

You can chase the world and acquire everything it offers, but if youโ€™re not fulfilling the very purpose for which you were created to worship Allฤh, to obey Him, to live with sincerity, and to strive for the Hereafter then all those achievements are hollow.

Remember that this dunyฤ will end. But your actions will remain.
Prepare for what lasts, not for what fades.

Translation: O Allฤh, don't make the world our biggest concern.

Which Is Better, Seeking Knowledge Or Night Qiyaam? By Ibn Uthaymeen

Question:

Which is better, seeking knowledge or standing in night prayer?

Answer:

Seeking knowledge is better than standing in night prayer, because seeking knowledge, as it was mentioned by Imaam Ahmad (may Allaah have mercy upon him):

Nothing compares to seeking knowledge, for the person who has corrected his intention. He intends to remove ignorance from himself and from others.

Thus, if a person stays up the first part of the night seeking knowledge sincerely for the face of Allaah, whether he is learning or teaching the people, then this action is better than standing in night prayer. However, if a person has the ability to combine between the aforementioned matters (seeking knowledge and the night prayer), then this is preferred. It is because of this that the Prophet (peace be upon him) instructed Abu Hurairah(may Allah be pleased with him) to perform the Witr prayer before going to sleep.

The Scholars mentioned the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) advised Abu Hurairah(may Allah be pleased with him) to perform Witr prayer before going to sleep because Abu Hurairah(may Allah be pleased with him) would spend a large portion of the night reviewing the narrations he heard from the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him).

TAWAKKUL IS NOT WHAT YOU WERE TAUGHT. MOST MUSLIMS ARE ACCIDENTALLY PRACTICING SOMETHING FAR CLOSER TO PASSIVITY โ€” AND CALLING IT TRUST IN ALLAH.๏ฟผ

"JUST MAKE DU'A AND LEAVE IT TO ALLAH."
"WHATEVER HAPPENS IS WRITTEN."
"TAWAKKUL, BRO."

These phrases have done quiet damage to an entire generation of Muslims.

Not because they're wrong.
But because they're INCOMPLETE.๏ฟผ

The most famous example of tawakkul in Islamic history is a man who sat on a camel.

And didn't get off.

The Prophet ๏ทบ was asked by a Bedouin:
"Should I tie my camel or leave it and rely on Allah?"

He ๏ทบ said:
TIE IT โ€” THEN RELY ON ALLAH.
(Tirmidhi โ€” hasan)

Four words that collapse an entire misunderstanding.๏ฟผ

True tawakkul has a sequence:

ASBAB โ†’ TAWAKKUL โ†’ RIDA

ASBAB: Take the means. All of them. Fully.
TAWAKKUL: Release the outcome to Allah.
RIDA: Accept the result with a heart at peace.

Most people skip asbab and jump straight to "I'm trusting Allah."

That's not tawakkul.
That's avoidance with Islamic branding.๏ฟผ

Ibn al-Qayyim said โ€” and this is the line that should stop you:

"ABANDONING THE MEANS WHILE CLAIMING TAWAKKUL IS NOT TRUST IN ALLAH โ€” IT IS TESTING ALLAH."

Testing Allah.
Meaning: you're not surrendering. You're gambling and calling it faith.

The bird the Prophet ๏ทบ described as having tawakkul โ€”
"LEAVES ITS NEST HUNGRY AND RETURNS FULL."
(Tirmidhi)

Notice: it leaves. It moves. It goes out.
It doesn't sit in the nest and wait for worms to appear.๏ฟผ

Here's the psychology:

The human nervous system has two modes:
Doing and Detaching.

Both are needed.
Chronic doing without detaching = anxiety and control.
Chronic detaching without doing = passivity and depression.

Tawakkul is the only framework in any tradition that prescribes both simultaneously โ€” and in the correct order.๏ฟผ

Act fully. Then release fully.

Not act-a-little-then-worry.
Not do-nothing-then-hope.

Full effort. Full release.
That combination is neurologically and spiritually THE formula for peace.๏ฟผ

You've been making du'a for your situation to change.
But you haven't updated your CV.
You haven't had the hard conversation.
You haven't started the thing.

And somewhere inside, you feel guilty โ€” because you know.

That discomfort you feel is not anxiety.
It's your nafs (inner self) being honest with you.

The door won't open if you don't knock.
Allah can open locked doors.
But you need to be at the door first.๏ฟผ

Start here:

Write down the thing you've been "leaving to Allah."
Then write down: *What is the next physical step I haven't taken yet?*

That step is your camel.
Tie it.
Then โ€” fully, truly โ€” leave the rest to Him.๏ฟผ

Take care of your health, skin, emaan, parents, and mental peace.
Work hard, earn halal, and stay focused.

THE OBLIGATION TO COMMAND GOOD AND FORBID EVIL

Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (may ALLฤ€H have mercy on him) said:

"The Shaytan has misled most people by beautifying for them the performance of certain voluntary acts of worship such as voluntary prayers and voluntary fasting while neglecting other obligatory acts of worship such as enjoining the good and eradicating the evil, to the extent that they do not even make the intention of performing them whenever they are able to. Such people are considered by the scholars to be on the bottom of the scale of religion; for the essence of our religion is to perform what ALLฤ€H ordered us to do. The one who does not perform his obligations is actually worse than the one who performs sins.

Anyone having some knowledge about the revelation of ALLฤ€H, the guidance of the Prophet (๏ทบ) and the life of the companions would conclude that those who are pointed at today as the most pious people are in fact the least pious. Indeed, what kind of piety is there in a person who witnesses ALLฤ€H's sanctities being violated, his religion abandoned, the Sunnah of HIS Messenger (๏ทบ) shunned, and yet remains still with a cold heart and a shut mouth. Such a person is like a dumb Shaytฤn! In the same way the one who talks falsehood is a speaking Shaytฤn."

"Knowledge is the vehicle for action and when a person learns and his knowledge is absolutely clear and then he does not act upon it, then it is extremely obvious that this knowledge will not bear any fruits. Thus it is necessary that the action be linked with this knowledge."

Narrated Anas ibn Malik:
The Prophet Muhammad (sallallaho alayhi wasallum) said:
"A believer who recites the Qura'an is like a citron whose fragrance is sweet and whose taste is sweet, a believer who does not recite the Qura'an is like a date which has no fragrance but has sweet taste, a profligate who recites the Qura'an is like basil whose fragrance is sweet but whose taste is bitter, and the profligate who does not recite the Qura'an is like the colocynth which has a bitter taste and has not fragrance. A good companion is like a man who has musk; if nothing of it goes to you, its fragrance will (certainly) go to you; and a bad companion is like a man who has bellows; if its (black) root does not go to you, its smoke will (certainly) go to you."

The Power of a Parentโ€™s Duสฟฤสพ

One of the most remarkable stories about a parentโ€™s supplication for their child is what has been narrated about Al-Fudayl ibn Iyad ุฑุญู…ู‡ ุงู„ู„ู‡.

He once made a heartfelt duสฟฤสพ for his son สฟAlฤซ, saying:

โ€œO Allah, I have tried my best to discipline and raise สฟAlฤซ, but I could not fully succeed. So discipline him for me.โ€

Allah answered his duสฟฤสพ.

His son, สฟAlฤซ, grew to become among the righteous and the scholars of Islamโ€”so much so that some scholars considered him even greater than his father in worship and humility before Allah.

Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak ุฑุญู…ู‡ ุงู„ู„ู‡ said:

โ€œThe best of people is Al-Fudaylโ€ฆ and even better than him is his son, สฟAlฤซ.โ€

A reflection for us today:

Sometimes you give your best as a parent.
You advise, teach, guide, correct.
Yet you still feel something is missing.

This story reminds us of a powerful truth:

What you cannot fix with effort, you can transform with duสฟฤสพ.

Do not underestimate the quiet moments when you raise your hands for your children.
Do not lose hope when you donโ€™t see immediate change.
Hearts are not in our control, but they are always in Allahโ€™s control.

A practical step you can start tonight:

Choose one sincere momentโ€”during your salah, upon Iftar, or while you are๏ฟผ in the masjidโ€”
and make a specific duสฟฤสพ for your child by name.

Not general, but personal.

โ€œO Allah, guide my son or daughter.
O Allah, protect their heart.
O Allah, make so Hafidh (memorize) the Quraan
O Allah, help me to help my son quit smokingโ€

Then be consistent.
Because sometimes, the duสฟฤสพ you make today
is the transformation you will witness years later.

Never stop planting seeds with duสฟฤสพ.

So if your husband or father is the one offering the sacrifice, the restriction is on him. Not on you.

this includes:

โSometimes, the most sincere prayers are found in the hospitals.โž

Sadly, this has become the state of a lot of Muslims. Only when their loved ones are sick that they start supplicating sincerely and earnestly. Then they start bargaining with Allaah. โ€œO Allaah! Save my child, and I will do such-and-such.โ€ โ€œO Allaah! Save my father, and I will feed the poor.โ€

Like the Kuffaar, who, when they were at sea, and the waves became strong and they feared drowning, they would sincerely supplicate to Allaah to save them. Otherwise, they did not bother.

This reminds about the Prophetโ€™s ๏ทบ warning that the first thing that will be raised from this Ummah is Khushoo.

โThe very first thing to be raised from this Ummah is Khushoo

When we say โ€œTO PRAY WITH KHUSHOOโ€ it means to perform the แนขalaah with complete submission, devotion, humility, tranquility (a state of peace and calmness, free from worldly distractions), in the state of being god-fearing. We lack this badly, except those whom Allaah has mercy upon.

๐Ÿ”ฅ The Complainers:

1๏ธโƒฃ A lot of people start complaining if the Imaam exceeds 45 mins while leading Taraaweeh. But these same people will have no issues in running for 90 mins while playing football, or exercising for more than an hour in the gym.

2๏ธโƒฃ A lot of us can't spare 15 mins a day to recite the Qurโ€™aan, while we have no issues in scrolling for hours on our phone.

3๏ธโƒฃ A lot of people will fill the stadiums, but they won't fill the Masaajid.

4๏ธโƒฃ They have time to watch movies in theaters, and shows on TVs, but no time or enthusiasm to learn the basics of their Deen.

โšก๏ธ It's all about mind over matters:

The mental willpower can control physical and emotional limitations. By controlling thoughts and reactions, one can overcome pain, or difficult situations.

โ€œIf you don't mind, it doesn't matter.โ€ But if you start nitpicking, then the routine becomes a burden, the easy becomes difficult, and the achievable becomes impossible.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Last year (1446H), I came across an uncle, may Allaah preserve him upon goodness, who completed the recitation of the Qurโ€™aan 11 times in Ramaแธhaan. He would recite the Qurโ€™aan from Asr till Maghrib. Then after Maghrib till Ishaa. Then after Taraaweeh till Qiyaam al-Layl. The only time I saw him pause was at Iftaar time. Even between Adhaan and Iqaamah he would be reciting the Qurโ€™aan.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Then I saw couple of brothers who, in the last 10 nights, stood in prayers for hours every night. Each of their two Raka
ah prayer would be an hour long, with long Qiyaam, long Rukoo, and long Sujood.

They reminded of the แธคadeeth of แธคuthaifah ุฑุถูŠ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู†ู‡ that the Prophet ๏ทบ prayed Surah al-Baqarah, aal-
Imraan, and al-Nisaa' in one night. And his ๏ทบ Rukoo` ans Sujood were as long as his Qiyaam. [See Saheeh Muslim]

HONESTY IN BARGAINING IS A CAUSE FOR BLESSING

Hakim Ibn Hizam (may ALLฤ€H be pleased with him) narrated that ALLฤ€H'S Messenger (๏ทบ) said,

"The seller and the buyer have the right to keep or return goods as long as they have not parted or till they part; and if both the parties spoke the truth and described the defects and qualities (of the goods), then they would be blessed in their transaction, and if they told lies or hid something, then the blessings of their transaction would be lost."

LESSONS AND BENEFITS:

โ— The option to annul the contract while still in the place of transaction (known as "option of session") is established for both the seller and the buyer.

โ— This option remains valid from the time of the contract until they physically separate.

โ— Once they separate from the session of the contract, the sale becomes binding.

โ— The importance of truthfulness in buying and selling.

โ— That worldly success is only complete through righteous deeds, and that the evil consequences of sins can remove both worldly and afterlife blessings.

โ— The virtue of honesty, the encouragement to be truthful, and that it is a cause of barakah in a personโ€™s earnings.

โ— The condemnation of lying, the encouragement to avoid it, and the fact that it removes barakah from oneโ€™s wealth.

โ— That working for the Hereafter brings benefit in both this life and the next.

"Every harm that enters upon a servant, its cause is the heart's corruption. The corruption of the heart in turn brings about the removal of the heart's share (of protection) from Allah, the Exalted, and a diminution of its degree and rank in the sight of Allah."
