Words of Wisdom Ibn al-Qayyim:
Ibn al-Qayyim:

Types of Patience

Patience is of two types: physical and psychological. Each type may also be optional or obligatory. Thus, we have four types of patience:

1) Optional physical patience such as doing hard labor willingly.

2) Obligatory physical patience, such as enduring the pain of beatings, illness, wounds or cold or hot weather.

3) Optional psychological patience, such as refraining from doing ill-conduct that contradicts sacred knowledge or reason.

4) Obligatory psychological patience, such as enduring the pain of separation from one's loved ones who are beyond his reach.

The obligatory types of patience can be applied to human beings and animals, whereas the optional types apply only to people. However, some people may only maintain patience for obligatory things, like animals, and forsake optional patience.

You've heard of the 99 Names of Allah.

But there are 3 names
that scholars say most Muslims
have never truly understood.

And when you understand them โ€”
the way you see your entire life changes.๏ฟผ

Al-Latฤซf.

Most people translate it as: The Kind.

That's too small.

Al-Latฤซf means:
The One who reaches you through paths so subtle
you don't even realise He's moving.๏ฟผ

That conversation that changed your direction.
That delay that protected you from something you never saw coming.
That door that closed so violently it hurt โ€”
right before a better one opened.

That wasn't coincidence.

That was Al-Latฤซf.

Working in ways too subtle for your eyes.
Too gentle for your understanding.๏ฟผ

Al-Wakฤซl.

The Trustee. The One you hand your affairs to.

Not the One you consult.
Not the One you pray to when you've run out of options.

The One you fully transfer your trust to.

There's a du'a for moments of fear that the Prophet ๏ทบ taught:

"Hasbunallฤhu wa ni'mal-wakฤซl."
(Allah is sufficient for us โ€” and what an excellent Trustee He is.)

Ibrahim (AS) said it when he was thrown into fire.
The fire became cool.๏ฟผ

Muhammad ๏ทบ and the Sahabah said it when they were told an army was coming to destroy them.
They returned with blessings.

When is the last time you truly transferred something to Al-Wakฤซl?
Not with your lips. With your chest.
"It's Yours. I can't carry this anymore. I trust
You."๏ฟผ

Al-Mujฤซb.
The One who responds.
Not: the One who sometimes responds. Not: the One who responds if you qualifjy.
Every single call. Every single time.
Without exception.

Allah says:
"And when My servants ask you concerning Me โ€” indeed I am near. I respond to the du'a of the one who calls when he calls upon Me."(2:186)๏ฟผ

He didn't say "I might respond. " He didn't say "I respond if the conditions are met."
"Irespond."
Full stop.

The response might be: Giving you what you asked for. Giving you something better. Removinga harm you didn't know was coming. Storing it for you on a Day when you'll need it most.
But He always responds.
Al-Mujฤซb never ignores a call.๏ฟผ

You're not forgotten. You're not too small. You're not too sinful.
You are talking to Al-Latฤซf, AI-Wakฤซl,
Al-Mujฤซb.
And every word you've ever whispered in the dark was heard.

HOW WE WASTE OUR TIME AND YOUTH
In the Mumbai local train, early morning in chilling cold, an elderly gentleman boards in and sells small chocolates. This is his daily routine and I have seen him for the past ten years. He is around 65, an age at which many government officers sit at home and gain pensions. What are his earnings? His box contains just a few hundred chocolates. It might take his entire morning to sell those and fetch him just two dollars if I convert it into US currency.

Another old man, I see on the beaches of Juhu carrying hot kettle of tea and struggling in the soft sands, walks a few miles till midnight. He sells around two litres of tea and that too fetches him around two dollars.

Now let us take a round at the Corniche and juice centres of Mumbai and Karachi at midnight. You will see young Muslim men in caps, as a religious identity, speeding cars and bikes and merrying at eateries, playing loud music. If you cannot visit Bhendi Bazar, then visit Delhi Juma Masjid or Kolkata's Juma Masjid. Crows are black everywhere. The media says that after 11 pm, it is peak hours at eateries in these localities. Most of these guys gulp down Pepsis and lick icecreams worth two dollars each. The amount of pocket money that is blown off by young people is too huge as compared to their monthly earnings. This is the time when youth is supposed to be studying at home or peacefully sleeping. Or if he is a man of Taqwa, he may even study the Qur'an. But our youth's special years are zipped, zapped, and zoomed on streets, eateries and malls.

When I pass by the railway station, I see teenagers polishing shoes to earn for their parents. On each Mumbai local railway station platform ( that runs up to 100), there are hundreds of these teenagers earning a living right from the morning. At that time, many Muslim youth who roam around in the streets at midnight are sleeping without fajr prayers.

A popular Hadith says : The Rizq of my Ummah is distributed during Fajr. Most of us have understood the concept of Rizq properly, yet we do not value the words of the Prophet (pbuh).
The youth are the backbone of a community. When this backbone suffers from 'SLEEP DISC' the whole body suffers handicap. The reason for these 'sleep disc' is late nights, whether you are roaming in the streets or cyber lanes. Many watch late-night TV shows and sports. In my school days, my disciplinary grandfather used to take a round around our rooms at 10 pm and check who is not sleeping.

Many times we used to find it hard to give explanations as to why we were still awake at 11!. Today's parents join their children in late-night entertainment and fun. The students then sleep in class to compensate their lost sleep.

Extravagance is not only in lavish spending of wealth, but it also reflects in spending time lavishly too. After all you can earn your lost money but not your time... By Sir Nisaar Y. Nadiadwala

So the remembrance of the Most Beloved, the love to Him and the longing to meet Him and the comfort in being near to him becomes overwhelming for him. His concern, intentions and objectives and the feelings of his heart revolve around all this.โ€

โš ๏ธ First time in Masjid al-Haram? Save these locations before you need them ๐Ÿค

Here are some very useful Haram tips that can save your time and energy:

1๏ธโƒฃ If you need direct access to Mataaf (Kaaba/tawaf area)

Usually these gates lead more directly toward the Kaaba area for pilgrims in ihram:
๐Ÿ“ Gate 1, 45, 63, 79 and 100

2๏ธโƒฃ If you want to pray on the rooftop

๐Ÿ“ Go directly to:
Gate 66, 84, 90, 91, 92 and 93

Youโ€™ll usually find escalators marked:
โ€œUpper Floors / Roofโ€

3๏ธโƒฃ Need luggage storage?

๐Ÿ“ Locations:
โœ…๏ธ Near King Abdul Aziz Gate (Gate 1) beside WC2
โœ…๏ธ Near King Fahd Gate (Gate 79)
โœ…๏ธ Opposite Gate 64 (Western Courtyard)
โœ…๏ธ Near Makkah Library (Eastern Courtyard)

4๏ธโƒฃ Lost your wallet, bag or phone?

๐Ÿ“ Lost & Found office:
โœ…๏ธ Exit from Marwah
โœ…๏ธ Walk until passing WC 9
โœ…๏ธ Youโ€™ll find the office beside Maktabat Makkah al-Mukarramah (old Mawlid House area)

5๏ธโƒฃ Need free wheelchair assistance for tawaf?

๐Ÿ“ Look near:
โ€ข Ajyad side entrances
โ€ข King Abdulaziz Gate area
โ€ข Safa-Marwah corridor entrances
โ€ข Assistance service points inside Haram

You can ask staff:
โ€œFree wheelchair for tawaf.โ€

6๏ธโƒฃ Need buggy service for Tawaf & Saโ€™i?

๐Ÿ“ Enter from Ajyad side
๐Ÿ“ Go between WC 2 & WC 3
๐Ÿ“ Then go up to Level 2

At the buggy area:
โœ…๏ธ scan the QR code
โœ…๏ธ connect to the WiFi provided there
โœ…๏ธ follow the registration steps

Many people only discover these things after struggling inside Haram ๐Ÿ˜”

My brothers, if you are incapable of performing Hajj one year, then resort to making Jihad against your soul. For it is the greatest Jihad.

Or if you are restricted from performing ritual acts, then slaughter on behalf of those who were left behind as much as you are able. For indeed, the spilling of blood is a consolation for the one who has been restricted.

And do not shave your religion by sins. For indeed, sins shave one's religion. They don't shave the hair. And stand before Allฤh in hope, fear and honesty. He who is distant from the sacred House of Allฤh , let him not distance himself by way of sins from Allฤhโ€™s mercy.

For indeed, the mercy of Allฤh is nearer to the one who repents to Him and seeks His forgiveness. He who was incapable of performing Hajj to the House or the House of Allฤh is distant from him, let him focus himself upon the Lord of the House.

For indeed, he who supplicates to Him and has hope for what is with Him, then He is nearer to him than his jugular vein.

"BECOMING... not SEEKING

Some men say, "How hard it is to find a righteous woman in this era." And some women also say, "How hard it is to find a righteous man these days." Maybe the statement above is true, although not absolute. However, what's more important is how good it would be if we directed that statement to ourselves first before saying it to others. "Have I become a righteous man? Have I become a righteous woman?"

Sometimes we're too busy judging others that we forget to judge ourselves. We're too busy SEEKING someone who we think is righteous. We're too busy SEEKING someone who's good. Meanwhile, we forget to strive to BECOME a righteous person ourselves.

A question should arise, "Are we worthy of hoping to get a righteous partner?" The answer lies within ourselves. Don't dream of getting a righteous woman if you're not yet able to become a righteous man. Don't dream of getting a righteous man if you're not yet able to become a righteous woman.

Why keep SEEKING? Why not BECOME? Don't seek what's good; become the best. Don't seek a righteous person; become a righteous woman. Don't seek a righteous man; become a righteous man. Because even if we seek, if we ourselves don't become, Allah won't give.

However, if we become, without seeking,Allah has already prepared, because when it comes to a partner, Allah will give according to our personality and level of faith. The more we seek perfection, the more we won't get it, because true perfection doesn't exist; what exists is the sincerity of our hearts to accept imperfection.

Realize that what we get today is the best according to Allah..and never doubt, because that realization will make us..."

๐Ÿšซ 2) โ€ฆthat on the Day of Judgment, there will be Prophets who will have many followers, some Prophets will have a few followers, some will have one or two followers, and some will have no followers. [Saheehain]

Which Is Better, Seeking Knowledge Or Night Qiyaam? By Ibn Uthaymeen

Question:

Which is better, seeking knowledge or standing in night prayer?

Answer:

Seeking knowledge is better than standing in night prayer, because seeking knowledge, as it was mentioned by Imaam Ahmad (may Allaah have mercy upon him):

Nothing compares to seeking knowledge, for the person who has corrected his intention. He intends to remove ignorance from himself and from others.

Thus, if a person stays up the first part of the night seeking knowledge sincerely for the face of Allaah, whether he is learning or teaching the people, then this action is better than standing in night prayer. However, if a person has the ability to combine between the aforementioned matters (seeking knowledge and the night prayer), then this is preferred. It is because of this that the Prophet (peace be upon him) instructed Abu Hurairah(may Allah be pleased with him) to perform the Witr prayer before going to sleep.

The Scholars mentioned the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) advised Abu Hurairah(may Allah be pleased with him) to perform Witr prayer before going to sleep because Abu Hurairah(may Allah be pleased with him) would spend a large portion of the night reviewing the narrations he heard from the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him).

TAWAKKUL IS NOT WHAT YOU WERE TAUGHT. MOST MUSLIMS ARE ACCIDENTALLY PRACTICING SOMETHING FAR CLOSER TO PASSIVITY โ€” AND CALLING IT TRUST IN ALLAH.๏ฟผ

"JUST MAKE DU'A AND LEAVE IT TO ALLAH."
"WHATEVER HAPPENS IS WRITTEN."
"TAWAKKUL, BRO."

These phrases have done quiet damage to an entire generation of Muslims.

Not because they're wrong.
But because they're INCOMPLETE.๏ฟผ

The most famous example of tawakkul in Islamic history is a man who sat on a camel.

And didn't get off.

The Prophet ๏ทบ was asked by a Bedouin:
"Should I tie my camel or leave it and rely on Allah?"

He ๏ทบ said:
TIE IT โ€” THEN RELY ON ALLAH.
(Tirmidhi โ€” hasan)

Four words that collapse an entire misunderstanding.๏ฟผ

True tawakkul has a sequence:

ASBAB โ†’ TAWAKKUL โ†’ RIDA

ASBAB: Take the means. All of them. Fully.
TAWAKKUL: Release the outcome to Allah.
RIDA: Accept the result with a heart at peace.

Most people skip asbab and jump straight to "I'm trusting Allah."

That's not tawakkul.
That's avoidance with Islamic branding.๏ฟผ

Ibn al-Qayyim said โ€” and this is the line that should stop you:

"ABANDONING THE MEANS WHILE CLAIMING TAWAKKUL IS NOT TRUST IN ALLAH โ€” IT IS TESTING ALLAH."

Testing Allah.
Meaning: you're not surrendering. You're gambling and calling it faith.

The bird the Prophet ๏ทบ described as having tawakkul โ€”
"LEAVES ITS NEST HUNGRY AND RETURNS FULL."
(Tirmidhi)

Notice: it leaves. It moves. It goes out.
It doesn't sit in the nest and wait for worms to appear.๏ฟผ

Here's the psychology:

The human nervous system has two modes:
Doing and Detaching.

Both are needed.
Chronic doing without detaching = anxiety and control.
Chronic detaching without doing = passivity and depression.

Tawakkul is the only framework in any tradition that prescribes both simultaneously โ€” and in the correct order.๏ฟผ

Act fully. Then release fully.

Not act-a-little-then-worry.
Not do-nothing-then-hope.

Full effort. Full release.
That combination is neurologically and spiritually THE formula for peace.๏ฟผ

You've been making du'a for your situation to change.
But you haven't updated your CV.
You haven't had the hard conversation.
You haven't started the thing.

And somewhere inside, you feel guilty โ€” because you know.

That discomfort you feel is not anxiety.
It's your nafs (inner self) being honest with you.

The door won't open if you don't knock.
Allah can open locked doors.
But you need to be at the door first.๏ฟผ

Start here:

Write down the thing you've been "leaving to Allah."
Then write down: *What is the next physical step I haven't taken yet?*

That step is your camel.
Tie it.
Then โ€” fully, truly โ€” leave the rest to Him.๏ฟผ
๐Ÿ‘9
Discipline yourself. This life is short.
Take care of your health, skin, emaan, parents, and mental peace.
Work hard, earn halal, and stay focused.
People will judge you, hurt you, and try to break you. I fall too, but I keep trying because Allah sees every silent battle +

THE OBLIGATION TO COMMAND GOOD AND FORBID EVIL

Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (may ALLฤ€H have mercy on him) said:

"The Shaytan has misled most people by beautifying for them the performance of certain voluntary acts of worship such as voluntary prayers and voluntary fasting while neglecting other obligatory acts of worship such as enjoining the good and eradicating the evil, to the extent that they do not even make the intention of performing them whenever they are able to. Such people are considered by the scholars to be on the bottom of the scale of religion; for the essence of our religion is to perform what ALLฤ€H ordered us to do. The one who does not perform his obligations is actually worse than the one who performs sins.

Anyone having some knowledge about the revelation of ALLฤ€H, the guidance of the Prophet (๏ทบ) and the life of the companions would conclude that those who are pointed at today as the most pious people are in fact the least pious. Indeed, what kind of piety is there in a person who witnesses ALLฤ€H's sanctities being violated, his religion abandoned, the Sunnah of HIS Messenger (๏ทบ) shunned, and yet remains still with a cold heart and a shut mouth. Such a person is like a dumb Shaytฤn! In the same way the one who talks falsehood is a speaking Shaytฤn."

๐Ÿ“š I'lฤm al-Muwaqqi'ฤซn (2/176).
๐Ÿ’ฏ1
Shaykh Al-Albaani said,

"Knowledge is the vehicle for action and when a person learns and his knowledge is absolutely clear and then he does not act upon it, then it is extremely obvious that this knowledge will not bear any fruits. Thus it is necessary that the action be linked with this knowledge."
