LOVING YOUR CHILD DOES NOT MEAN CLOSING YOUR EYES WHILE THEY DESTROY OTHERS.

A parent’s heart may ache for their son or daughter, but Islām does not allow love to become an excuse for sin. When you remain silent while your child breaks homes, betrays trusts, and harms innocent families—especially children—you are not protecting them. You are abandoning your duty.

Allah warns us with words that should shake every believing heart:
﴿يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا قُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًا﴾
O you who believe, protect yourselves and your families from the Fire.

Ask yourself: how can a parent watch their child walk toward the Fire and still call it love?

True love restrains.
True love corrects.
True love says “stop” even when it breaks the heart.

Allowing your child to become a home wrecker is not mercy—it is cruelty. Not only to the family being destroyed, but to your own child whose soul is being darkened, whose ākhirah is being placed at risk. The tears of abandoned spouses and confused children do not go unheard by Allāh.

A parent who truly loves their child will stand between them and sin, even if the child becomes angry, even if the world calls it harsh. Because love that leads to Jahannam is not love—it is betrayal.

If you think you are loving your child by tolerating their wrongdoing, then know this:
You are not loving them.
You are losing them.

O Allāh, protect us and our families from trials—those that are apparent and those that are hidden. Guide our sons and daughters to obedience to You, turn away from them all evil and what is unlawful, and make them a comfort to our eyes in this world and the Hereafter. Protect us and them from the punishment of the Fire.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“No one prostrates to Allah but Allah will record one Hasanah (good reward) for him, and will erase thereby one bad deed and raise him in status one degree. So prostrate a great deal.”

Disappear this Ramadan and set yourself 12 months ahead with these habits:

1. Wake up for Tahajjud (last third of the night)

The world is asleep.
Shaytan is chained.
Your nafs is quiet.

Win the night, win Ramadan.
Win Ramadan, win the year.

2. Fast from your phone after Isha until Fajr

Not just food and water.
Fast from the thing that's actually destroying you.
Your screen.

No scrolling before bed
No "quick checks" at 2am
No dopamine hits when you're weak

3. Recite the Quran with intention (not just speed)

Everyone's racing to finish 30 juz.
Almost no one is letting it change them.

• Pick ONE surah.
• Read the tafsir. (tafsir ibn kathir or tafsir as-sa'di)
• Try to understand what Allah is actually saying to YOU.

Transformation doesn't come from speed reading.
It comes from letting the words rewire your heart.
2 pages with reflection > 2 juz without it.

4. Build ONE Islamic habit that outlasts Ramadan

Most people go hard for 30 days.
Then collapse on Eid +1.
Don't be like that.

Choose ONE practice you'll carry forever:

• Fajr in the masjid
• Daily Quran after Fajr
• Consistent night prayer
• Guarding your gaze like your life depends on it

Ramadan isn't a sprint.
It's the foundation for the next 11 months.

5. Invest in your Akhirah while everyone's distracted

While others are:

• Binging after taraweeh
• Staying up until suhoor doing nothing
• Wasting Laylatul Qadr on their phones

You're:

• Learning your deen properly
• Breaking the addiction cycles
• Building the discipline that lasts for years to come

This Ramadan disappears from the noise.
Reappear as someone unrecognizable.

Just PRAY.

"Zakariyya A.S didn't know how Allah was going to give him an offspring. He, still prayed.

Yunus A.S didn't know how he would be saved from the belly
of a whale. He still prayed.

Musa A.S didn't know how Allah would make a way out a (seemingly) dead end, He still prayed.

Ayyub A.S literally lost everything. His children, money and health. Allah then inspired him to make Du’a through which Allah restored everything.

Sometimes you don't have to know the “HOW” you just have to pray with full conviction."

OPPRESSOR AND THOSE WHO AID HIM.

Ibn al-Jawzi (rahimahullah) narrates:

When Imam Aḥmed ibn Ḥanbal (raḥimahullah) was jailed, one of the prison guards came to him and asked him:

“O Abu ‘Abdullah! The Hadith that is narrated regarding oppressors and those that aid them, is it authentic?”

He said: “Yes.”

The prison guard then said: “So, am I considered to be an aide of the oppressors?”

Imam Ahmed (rahimahullah) replied: “No. The aides of the oppressors are those that comb your hair, wash your clothes, prepare your meals, and buy and sell from you. As for you, are one of the oppressors yourselves.”

How to deal with a difficult situation.

Sheikh’l-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) writes:

Many people, when they see evil or when the Muslim ummah goes through a lot of trouble, panic, lose hope and start complaining as people who are beset by calamities do.

But this is forbidden; rather what is enjoined is to be patient, to put one’s trust in Allah, to be steadfast in adhering to the religion of Islam and to believe that Allah is with those who fear Him and those who do good, and that the best end is for those who fear Him.

Whatever befalls him is because of his sins, so he should be patient, for the promise of Allaah is true; he should seek forgiveness for his sins and glorify and praise his Lord morning and evening.

Majmoo‘ al-Fataawaa v. 18, p. 295
Most people think the big sins in Islam are:
∙ Zina
∙ Drinking
∙ Stealing
∙ Lying

But there’s one sin the Quran mentions more than all of those combined.

Riba (Interest)

It’s mentioned over 40 times in the Quran.

Allah declares war on people who deal in it:
“If you do not give up riba, then be warned of war from Allah and His Messenger.” (2:279)

Not a warning.
Not a punishment.

War.
From Allah.

And yet most Muslims:
∙ Have interest-based bank accounts
∙ Take out interest-based loans
∙ Invest in interest-based stocks

And think it’s “unavoidable in the modern world.”

Here’s the reality:
If Allah went to war for people in the past over interest, what makes you think He’s okay with it now?

I’m not saying this to judge.
I’m saying this because we’ve normalized something Allah literally went to war over.

Maybe it’s time to rethink that.

It is my humble request to all brothers: with Ramadan approaching, please try to make things easier for your womenfolk by offering a helping hand in the kitchen or by being content with simpler meals, so that they too can focus on worshipping Allah to the best of their ability.

Yes, there is immense reward in preparing and serving food for our menfolk, Alhamdulillāh. But remember that helping and making things easier for your women is also a means for you to earn reward.

We do not know whether we will be granted another Ramadan, so let this Ramadan not pass us by while we are distracted by worldly routines and unnecessary burdens.

Encourage your wives, mothers and sisters to dedicate more time to worship, reflection and seeking Allah’s mercy and forgiveness.
Support them and appreciate their efforts, sacrifices and the hard work they put in, especially in this blessed month.

BarakAllahu feekum.

Allah Ta’ala said,

"Establish the prayer from after sunset until dark and (establish the Fajr prayer). Indeed, the Fajr prayer is witnessed (by the angels)." (Qs. Al-Isra': 78)

May Allah always give guidance to all of us, especially men, to be able to perform fajr prayers in congregation at the mosque.

It was reported by Ibn Abī ʿl-Dunyā in his book “al-Tawakkul” from Muʿāwiyyah b. Qurrah:

ʿUmar Ibn al-Khaṭṭāb (may Allah be pleased with him) was in the presence of some people from Yemen (who did not want to work),

And he asked them: “Who are you?”

They said: “We are the mutawakkilūn (ie: those who put their trust in Allah).”

So ʿUmar said: “Rather, you are the muttakilūn (those who expect others to feed them)! And as for al-mutawakkil, he first throws the seeds into the earth (ie: as labour) and then depends on Allah the Mighty and Majestic (to provide for him).”

Is your loyalty towards Allaah or the people?

Muaawiyah رضي الله عنه wrote to the mother of the believers, Aaishah رضي الله عنها, asking her to write to him some advice but not making it lengthy.

“Assalaamu Alaik. To proceed… I heard the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم saying,

❝Whoever seeks the pleasure of Allaah while the people are displeased; then Allaah will protect him from the troubles caused by the people. And whosoever seeks the pleasure of the people while displeasing Allaah; then Allaah will leave his matter for the people (i.e. Allaah will not protect him from the harms of the people)❞
Wassalaamu Alaik.”

We are quickly approaching 40 days until Ramadan, and the Prophet used to say:

[إقرأِ القرآنَ في أربعينَ]

"Complete the Qur’an in forty days."

[Sahih al-Jami’ #1154]

al-Haafidh ibn Kathir commented on this by saying:

[قال إسحاق بن راهويه وغيره : يكره لرجل أن يمر عليه أربعون يوما لا يقرأ فيها القرآن ، كما أنه يكره له أن يقرأ في أقل من ثلاثة أيام]

Ishaq ibn Rahawayh and others said: it is disliked for a man to let forty days pass by him without completing a reading of the Qur'an, just as it is disliked for him to complete it in less than three days.

[Tafsir ibn Kathir 1/73]

If you are not in the habit of completing the Qur'an in a month - as many of us will try to do during Ramadan - this 40 day schedule can be a great way to prepare. InshaAllaah those who prepare before Ramadan will be able to get more out of Ramadan when it arrives - may Allah enable us all to reach it.
