Tawakkul (Reliance on Allāh)
‘Amr bin al-‘Ās رضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:
"Verily, the heart of the son of Ādam has a branch in every valley [of desire]. Whoever allows their heart to chase all these branches, Allāh cares not in which valley they perish. But whoever relies upon Allāh, He suffices them against being scattered [by desires]."
Sunan Ibn Mājah 4166
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“If you were to truly rely on Allāh (Tawakkul) as He ought to be relied upon, you would be provided for just as birds are provided for: they go out hungry in the morning and return full in the evening.”
Sunan at-Tirmidhī 2344
Sa’īd bin al-Musayyib reported:
“Salmān al-Fārisī and ‘Abdullāh bin Salām met. One said to the other:
‘If you meet our Lord before me, meet me and inform me of what you encounter. If I meet Him before you, I will meet you and inform you.’ One of them passed away and appeared to his companion in a dream saying: ‘Reliance (on Allāh)! Receive glad tidings! For I have seen nothing like reliance!’ He repeated this three times.”
Az-Zuhd by Ibn al-Mubārak 428
Al-Fayd bin Ishāq reported:
“I asked al-Fudayl [bin ‘Iyād]: ’Define true reliance (Tawakkul) for me.’ He replied: ‘Ah! How can you claim reliance on Him while you resent His decree? If you entered your home to find your wife blind, your daughter paralyzed, and yourself struck with a stroke—would you accept His decree?’ I said: ‘I fear I would lack patience.’ Al-Fudayl declared: ‘Then you have not achieved true reliance until your trust is one: you accept all He ordains—ease and adversity alike. You resent nothing withheld, and trust utterly in what He gives.’ He then mentioned a man (naming him) and said: ‘I even hesitate to say in my prostration: ‘O Allāh, in You I place my trust!’
Kitāb at-Tawakkul ‘alā Allāh 15
Muhammad bin Yahyā ibn Hātim reported:
"I asked ‘Abdullāh bin Dāwūd about reliance’ and he replied: ‘I consider reliance to be having good expectations of Allāh (حسن الظن).’”
Kitāb at-Tawakkul ‘alā Allāh 30
‘Uqbah bin Abī Zaynab reported:
"It is written in the Torah: ‘Do not rely on the son of Ādam (humans), for the son of Ādam has no substance/stability. Rather, rely upon Allāh — the Ever-Living Who never dies.’"
Kitāb at-Tawakkul ‘alā Allāh 58
Al-Khallāl reported:
“Abū Bakr al-Marrūdhī informed us saying: Abū ‘Abdullāh (Ahmad bin Hanbal) was asked: ‘What is the essence of sincere reliance upon Allāh?’ He replied: ‘It is to rely on Allāh while having no one from humankind in your heart whose help you hope for. If one achieves this, Allāh will provide for them and they will have truly attained Tawakkul.’”

“I DID NOT TASTE THE SWEETNESS OF THAT WORSHIP UNTIL I ABANDONED THREE THINGS”
Imam Ahmad bin Harb رحمه الله said:
I worshipped Allah for fifty years but I did not taste the sweeteness of that worship until I abandoned three things -
1 - I abandoned trying to please people which allowed me to speak the truth
2 - I abandoned associating with the transgressors which allowed me to mix with the righteous
3 - I abandoned the sweetness of this world which allowed me to taste the sweetness of the Hereafter
( Siyar A’lam An-Nubalaa - 11:34)

Be easy going on the insolvents:
In this materialistic world it is difficult to find someone who after losing financially is still not hurt by the loss. Therefore, we find that the people who give out money (as a loan) are less; and lesser than them are those who give respite to the insolvent; and even lesser than them are those who write-off the debt. No wonder Allaah تعالى has assigned great rewards for these actions.
Hudhaifah رضي الله عنه reported Allaah’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم as saying: “The angels took away the soul of a person who had lived among people who were before you. They (the angels) said: Did you do anything good? He said: No. they said: Try to recall. He said: I used to lend to people and order my servants to give respite to one in straitened circumstances and give allowance to the solvent. Then Allaah تعالى said (to the angels): {You should ignore (his failing).}” [Saheeh Muslim (4076)]
Abu Mas
`Abdullaah bin Abu Qataadah reported that Abu Qataadah رضي الله عنه demanded (the payment of his debt) from his debtor but he (the debtor) disappeared; later on he (Abu Qataadah) found him and he (the debtor) said: I am hard up financially, whereupon he (Abu Qataadah) said: (Do you state it) by Allaah? He said: By Allaah! Upon this he (Abu Qataadah) said: I heard Allaah’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم as saying: “He who loves that Allaah saves him from the torments of the Day of Resurrection should give respite to the insolvent or remit (his debt).” [Saheeh Muslim (4083)]

ood and Hudhaifah رضي الله عنهما were together in a gathering. Hudhaifah رضي الله عنه said: A person met his Lord (after death) and He تعالى said: {What (good) did you do?} He said: I did no good except that I was a rich man, and I demanded from the people (the repayment of debt that I advanced to them). I, however, accepted that which the solvent gave and remitted (the debt) of the insolvent, whereupon He تعالى said (to the angels): {You should ignore (the faults) of My servant}. Abu Masood رضي الله عنه said: This is what I heard Allaah's Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم as saying. The Greatest Action That Removes Sins
As for the question of what is the greatest matter that wipes away sins, then the scholars mention that the greatest deed which erases sins is At-Tawḥīd. They use as evidence the well-known ḥadīth of the man who will come on the Day of Judgment with ninety-nine scrolls of sins, each scroll stretching as far as the eye can see, yet one card bearing Lā ilāha illā Allāh will outweigh all of those scrolls.
[Sunan At-Tirmidhī (no. 2639), Ibn Mājah (no. 4300); authenticated by Al-Albānī]
Based on this ḥadīth, the scholars conclude that Tawḥīd—sincerely singling out Allāh in worship—is the greatest means of wiping away sins. A servant’s ikhlāṣ in his acts of worship is the essence and reality of Tawḥīd.
Major Sins vs. Minor Sins
They also explain that major sins require specific tawbah, while minor sins may be forgiven through righteous deeds, such as:
• From one obligatory ṣalāh to the next
• From one Jumuʿah to the next
•From one Ramaḍān to the next
These are expiations for what occurs between them—as long as major sins are avoided.
«الصَّلَوَاتُ الخَمْسُ، وَالجُمُعَةُ إِلَى الجُمُعَةِ، وَرَمَضَانُ إِلَى رَمَضَانَ، مُكَفِّرَاتٌ لِمَا بَيْنَهُنَّ إِذَا اجْتُنِبَتِ الكَبَائِرُ»
[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim (no. 233)]
However, Ibn Al-Qayyim mentioned that if a person performs an act with true sincerity, it may be a cause for even major sins to be forgiven, by Allāh’s mercy. They give as an example the ḥadīth of the woman who was a prostitute yet had her sins forgiven because she sincerely gave water to a thirsty dog.
«فَسَقَتْهُ، فَغُفِرَ لَهَا بِذَلِكَ»
[Ṣaḥīḥ Al-Bukhārī (no. 3321), Muslim (no. 2245)]
Her sincerity in this act of kindness led to the forgiveness of her major sin.
And sincerity is nothing but Tawḥīd, for it is drawing near to Allāh alone and worshipping Him alone without seeking the praise of anyone else.
Thus, worshipping Allāh with sincerity is the greatest means of erasing sins, whether through reciting Lā ilāha illā Allāh, performing righteous actions sincerely, or repenting truthfully.
The Importance of Tawbah
This does not mean a person should neglect tawbah. Tawbah is the safest and most complete means of seeking forgiveness—from the sins we know and the sins we are unaware of.
The Prophet ﷺ himself used to seek forgiveness and repent more than a hundred times daily.
«يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ تُوبُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ، فَإِنِّي أَتُوبُ فِي الْيَوْمِ إِلَيْهِ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ»
[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim (no. 2702)]
If this is the case of the Prophet ﷺ—whose past and future sins were forgiven—then we are even more in need of constant tawbah and renewed sincerity.

The Isrāf - the waste of food - that takes place in Ramaḍān
I find this to be a problem at times even among those who practice Islām more and even those in the realm of knowledge.
Allāh does not like the Musrifūn - Noble Qur’ān 6:141 and 7:31
The saddest sight is when attending a Masjid Ifṭār - children, and yes, even grownups, load their plates and end up throwing half of their food away.
And this occurs, out of all times, in Ramaḍān, a time in which we are striving to achieve Taqwā by means of feeling hunger and thirst. Imagine doing this while other Muslims around the world are dying from starvation.
There is no excuse for throwing food away. When you eat, always keep in mind that it will be consumed, whether at the time it is served or another time.
If you can't finish it, take it home, save it in the fridge and finish it later, maybe at time of Suḥūr.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said as documented in Riyāḍ uṣ-Ṣāliḥīn 164 what follows:
"When a morsel of any of you falls down, you should pick it up and remove any dirt or dust on it and then eat it; and don't leave it for Satan; and do not wipe your hand with the towel until you have licked your fingers, for you do not know in what portion of the food the Barakah* (of Allāh) lies."
What is to be said about throwing it away in waste? We end being among those whom Allāh does not love and those who lose out on the blessings in the food.
Let us have Taqwā of Allāh.

LOVING YOUR CHILD DOES NOT MEAN CLOSING YOUR EYES WHILE THEY DESTROY OTHERS.
A parent’s heart may ache for their son or daughter, but Islām does not allow love to become an excuse for sin. When you remain silent while your child breaks homes, betrays trusts, and harms innocent families—especially children—you are not protecting them. You are abandoning your duty.
Allah warns us with words that should shake every believing heart:
﴿يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا قُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًا﴾
O you who believe, protect yourselves and your families from the Fire.
Ask yourself: how can a parent watch their child walk toward the Fire and still call it love?
True love restrains.
True love corrects.
True love says “stop” even when it breaks the heart.
Allowing your child to become a home wrecker is not mercy—it is cruelty. Not only to the family being destroyed, but to your own child whose soul is being darkened, whose ākhirah is being placed at risk. The tears of abandoned spouses and confused children do not go unheard by Allāh.
A parent who truly loves their child will stand between them and sin, even if the child becomes angry, even if the world calls it harsh. Because love that leads to Jahannam is not love—it is betrayal.
If you think you are loving your child by tolerating their wrongdoing, then know this:
You are not loving them.
You are losing them.
O Allāh, protect us and our families from trials—those that are apparent and those that are hidden. Guide our sons and daughters to obedience to You, turn away from them all evil and what is unlawful, and make them a comfort to our eyes in this world and the Hereafter. Protect us and them from the punishment of the Fire.

“No one prostrates to Allah but Allah will record one Hasanah (good reward) for him, and will erase thereby one bad deed and raise him in status one degree. So prostrate a great deal.”

Disappear this Ramadan and set yourself 12 months ahead with these habits:
1. Wake up for Tahajjud (last third of the night)
The world is asleep.
Shaytan is chained.
Your nafs is quiet.
Win the night, win Ramadan.
Win Ramadan, win the year.
2. Fast from your phone after Isha until Fajr
Not just food and water.
Fast from the thing that's actually destroying you.
Your screen.
No scrolling before bed
No "quick checks" at 2am
No dopamine hits when you're weak
3. Recite the Quran with intention (not just speed)
Everyone's racing to finish 30 juz.
Almost no one is letting it change them.
• Pick ONE surah.
• Read the tafsir. (tafsir ibn kathir or tafsir as-sa'di)
• Try to understand what Allah is actually saying to YOU.
Transformation doesn't come from speed reading.
It comes from letting the words rewire your heart.
2 pages with reflection > 2 juz without it.
4. Build ONE Islamic habit that outlasts Ramadan
Most people go hard for 30 days.
Then collapse on Eid +1.
Don't be like that.
Choose ONE practice you'll carry forever:
• Fajr in the masjid
• Daily Quran after Fajr
• Consistent night prayer
• Guarding your gaze like your life depends on it
Ramadan isn't a sprint.
It's the foundation for the next 11 months.
5. Invest in your Akhirah while everyone's distracted
While others are:
• Binging after taraweeh
• Staying up until suhoor doing nothing
• Wasting Laylatul Qadr on their phones
You're:
• Learning your deen properly
• Breaking the addiction cycles
• Building the discipline that lasts for years to come
This Ramadan disappears from the noise.
Reappear as someone unrecognizable.

Just PRAY.
"Zakariyya A.S didn't know how Allah was going to give him an offspring. He, still prayed.
Yunus A.S didn't know how he would be saved from the belly
of a whale. He still prayed.
Musa A.S didn't know how Allah would make a way out a (seemingly) dead end, He still prayed.
Ayyub A.S literally lost everything. His children, money and health. Allah then inspired him to make Du’a through which Allah restored everything.
Sometimes you don't have to know the “HOW” you just have to pray with full conviction."

I say to EVERY Muslim; DO NOT stop yourself from memorizing Qurʾān even if it’s an Āyah a day, if you’re unable then do HALF AN ĀYAH A DAY, keep repeating until you memorise for THIS IS KALĀM OF ALLĀH with which DEGREES ARE RAISED IN JANNAH!!

OPPRESSOR AND THOSE WHO AID HIM.
Ibn al-Jawzi (rahimahullah) narrates:
When Imam Aḥmed ibn Ḥanbal (raḥimahullah) was jailed, one of the prison guards came to him and asked him:
“O Abu ‘Abdullah! The Hadith that is narrated regarding oppressors and those that aid them, is it authentic?”
He said: “Yes.”
The prison guard then said: “So, am I considered to be an aide of the oppressors?”
Imam Ahmed (rahimahullah) replied: “No. The aides of the oppressors are those that comb your hair, wash your clothes, prepare your meals, and buy and sell from you. As for you, are one of the oppressors yourselves.”

How to deal with a difficult situation.
Sheikh’l-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) writes:
Many people, when they see evil or when the Muslim ummah goes through a lot of trouble, panic, lose hope and start complaining as people who are beset by calamities do.
But this is forbidden; rather what is enjoined is to be patient, to put one’s trust in Allah, to be steadfast in adhering to the religion of Islam and to believe that Allah is with those who fear Him and those who do good, and that the best end is for those who fear Him.
Whatever befalls him is because of his sins, so he should be patient, for the promise of Allaah is true; he should seek forgiveness for his sins and glorify and praise his Lord morning and evening.
Majmoo‘ al-Fataawaa v. 18, p. 295
