Australian Internet Provider TPG Hacked — 15,000 Customers Exposed
TPG Telecom - Australia’s second-largest internet provider with 7.2 million customers - has become the country’s latest high-profile firm to suffer a cyberattack after it revealed on Wednesday that around 15,000 corporate client emails had been accessed.
The company reported that hackers appeared to be after cryptocurrency and financial data of corporate clients, upon whom TPG relies for almost a third of its pre-tax profits.
Eight other firms have gone public with cyberattacks on their data since October, a trend that Australian Cyber Security Centre last month blamed largely on inadequate software updates .

An Australian pro-Putin activist has been arrested after what police said Wednesday was a suspected assault at a protest for Ukraine in Sydney.
Simeon Boikov, known by the nickname “Aussie Cossack”, posted a video of himself attending the rally on his Telegram channel. The video shows a brief scuffle, after which an elderly man can be seen falling to the ground.
“Self-defense, whoever touches me, I will defend myself,” we can hear Simeon Boikov say.
The man who presents himself as an independent journalist has more than 200,000 subscribers on social networks with which he expresses his frank support for Russia and his opposition to vaccines against Covid-19. He was interviewed and quoted by the famous American conspirator Alex Jones.
In a statement, police said they were called to a disturbance at Sydney Town Hall around midday on Tuesday. Officers learned that a 76-year-old man was allegedly assaulted during the protest, but was not seriously injured.
"A 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Day Street Police Station," the statement said without naming Boikov. “He was charged with assault causing actual bodily harm and was granted bail to appear in Downing Center Local Court on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.”
In a post on Telegram after the incident, Simeon Boikov compared the Russian-Ukrainian war to footballers faking an injury.
"The Ukrainians attack the Russians and when the Russians defend themselves, the Ukrainians lie on the ground like Brazilian footballers pretending to be victims," he wrote.

⚡️Using this same right arm which was grabbed by the assailant @AussieCossack pushed the assailant away using an open palm with reasonable force.
😞Unfortunately for the assailant he lost his footing on the stairs resulting in the "bad optics" of the fall.
❗️Section 418 of the Crimes Act 1900 provides that a person is NOT criminally responsible for an offence if the person carries out the offence in self-defence.

Прямо сейчас власти континентального государства преследуют своего гражданина русского происхождения Семена Бойкова, грозя ему тюремным заключением. Как рассказал активист Readovka, «провинился» он тем, что был организатором 100-тысячного шествия «За нейтралитет Австралии» и использование российских триколоров.
Бойков, публично поддержавший свою историческую родину в условиях мировой травли, обратился за помощью к нашей редакции с просьбой привлечь внимание к своей ситуации. Русский атаман уже написал генеральному консулу России в Сиднее Игорю Аржанову, заявив в письме, что он просит политического убежища и намерен в дальнейшем при содействии российских властей получить гражданство РФ.
Сейчас Семен укрылся в российском консульстве, но без прямого указания со Смоленской площади сотрудники дипучреждения не имеют права оставить Семена в здании, на выходе из которого его поджидает полиция. Однако такого указания, как и реакции от нашего МИД, до сих пор не поступало.
В австралийской тюрьме Семену уже пришлось ранее побывать — в этом году он провел там шесть месяцев за автопробег в поддержку СВО и вышел на свободу только в середине сентября. По каким причинам реакция от МИДа и какие-либо действия по вызволению нашего соотечественника, яро выступающего во враждебном государстве с пророссийской позицией, не последовали еще тогда — вопрос открытый.
