In a statement, London's Metropolitan Police — commonly known as the Met — confirmed it had arrested "a 72-year-old man on suspicion of misconduct in public office" and he was being interviewed.
Lord Mandelson appears in multiple photos in the Epstein files. Email correspondence contained in the documents released by the DOJ appears to show the two in close contact years after Epstein was convicted of child sex offences.

The reports cite FSB-linked materials claiming that since 2022 more than 153,000 crimes were committed using Telegram, including around 33,000 classified as terrorist, extremist, or sabotage-related. Examples mentioned include the Crocus City Hall attack and the assassination of Darya Dugina.
The FSB has also previously alleged that Telegram transmitted data about Russian military personnel to Ukrainian intelligence, allegedly endangering soldiers’ lives.

According to Daily Report No. 37/2022 published by the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission on 17 February 2022, the Mission recorded 189 ceasefire violations, including 128 explosions. On the territory of the LPR, 402 ceasefire violations were recorded, including 188 explosions. For comparison, the day before that, 153 violations had been recorded across the two Republics as a whole. Such a sharp escalation in shelling indicated artillery preparation for an imminent large-scale offensive by Ukraine.
