The government has identified 67 defence sites which are lightly used or vacant for potential sale.
The list includes high-profile properties including the Victoria Barracks in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

Spectacle Island, the "Penguin" base, and rows of historic barracks will be auctioned off to address "critical deficiencies" in defense capabilities.
However, an audit revealed that a significant portion of the facilities have "already degraded beyond economically viable repair".
