❗️US President Donald Trump says Russia's Vladimir Putin has agreed to halt attacks on Kiev and some other Ukrainian areas for a week, after strikes left swathes of the Ukrainian capital without heating in freezing temperatures.

"They've never experienced cold like that. And I personally asked President Putin not to fire into Kiev and the various towns for a week," Mr Trump told a cabinet meeting in Washington on Thursday.

"And he agreed to do that, and I have to tell you, it was very nice."

❗️NATO is unravelling as shared interests and trust with the United States collapse.

For Australia, this raises urgent questions about the future value of ANZUS and related security arrangements.

Alliances are built on shared interests and trust. When interests are no longer shared, alliances wither. A breach of trust is fatal.

On both counts, NATO is in its death throes. America no longer shares Europe’s interest in its defence and security against Russia, while US President Donald Trump’s threat to annex Greenland has smashed trust.

Given the complexity of modern communications technology, would it even be possible to segregate Australia from American command and control systems that operate within the space-based communications and intelligence architecture? Again, is it possible to insulate Australia within the system? Can Australian sovereignty be protected?

❗️Australia is fueling China’s war machine — the dirty secret of Western alliances

🇨🇦While the US attacks Canada over minor deals with Beijing, Australia ships over $100B a year in iron ore to China

🇹🇼The US calls China the “main threat of the century” and arms Taiwan, sanctions Huawei, sends carriers to the South China Sea
• Yet its key AUKUS ally Australia keeps supplying China with strategic resources
• Without Australian ore, China has no tanks, ships, or missiles

🇦🇺🇨🇳🇺🇸If conflict begins, Washington will demand a total embargo and then Australia must choose:

• Betray the US and keep feeding China
• Or cut China off and crash the global economy
• The West already lost the strategic game with China
• The moment Australia started supplying ore for bullets that may one day hit US soldiers

❗️A Ukrainian agent planned to shoot a Russian serviceman in St. Petersburg, and his Makarov pistol with a silencer was confiscated.

The man contacted his handler himself and reported that he wanted to carry out a terrorist attack in support of the Kiev regime. The FSB showed footage of the correspondence.

"I was the first to write to him that I was ready to carry out some task. To be useful. I had a photo of the car and his address. I sent everything to Roma (the handler)", — admitted the detainee.

Dmitry Medvedev:

"On Comrade UN Secretary-General

Question to the Secretary-General: do Donbass and Crimea — which was transferred to Ukraine in 1956 — have the right to self-determination under Article 1 of the UN Charter, just like the people of Greenland?

Secretary-General’s answer: no. According to the Office of Legal Affairs, the principle of territorial integrity of the state prevails here.

The end.

And who gave the Secretary-General and the Office of Legal Affairs the authority to interpret the UN Charter? Only the International Court of Justice is specifically vested with that right under Article 96 of the Charter itself — and even then, only at the request of the UN General Assembly or the Security Council.

Limited interpretative authority is also held by UN member states themselves, as well as the General Assembly and the Security Council, but only on matters within their respective competence. It is also important to note that at the 1945 San Francisco Conference it was recognized that no UN body has the right to issue interpretations of the Charter that are binding on all member states.

So where does the Secretary-General fit into this?

Apparently, the UN Secretariat is now so frightened by Trump’s “Peace Council” that they are afraid of losing their jobs. Otherwise, why stick your tongues so deep, comrades?"
