βοΈEstonia plans to begin building defensive fortifications on the border with Russia this year, the ERR news portal reported, citing Estonian officials.
πͺπͺπ€‘According to the website, by summer the country's Ministry of Defense will have to choose one of two types of bunkers that "were tested" last year. According to the military, "experience from the war in Ukraine" was taken into account when testing the bunkers. In particular, the new Estonian bunkers must withstand a 152-mm shell. By autumn, the authorities plan to build the first stronghold of 14 such bunkers in the northeast of the country.
The network of fortifications itself will be much larger than just bunkers, the site claims. It is planned to install anti-tank barriers and equip firing positions. Some elements of the defensive zone will be installed only "in times of crisis."
As a result, the planned defensive chain will include about 600 bunkers on the eastern border. The defensive structures are planned to be built mainly on state land, but private lands will also be used.

βοΈAs modern warfare becomes increasingly reliant on space-based networks, Russia and China are stepping up efforts to counter the dominance of commercial satellite constellations, particularly SpaceXβs Starlink.
The Secure World Foundation (SWF) analysts highlight two key Russian systems:
β‘οΈTobol and Kalinka. Originally designed to protect Russian satellites from jamming, the Tobol system has been repurposed to disrupt satellite communications and navigation systems like GPS.
β‘οΈAt least seven Tobol complexes are distributed across Russian territory, and leaked U.S. military documents suggest Russia has deployed at least three installations specifically to target Starlink signals over Eastern Ukraine.
β‘οΈWhat makes Kalinka particularly worrisome is its alleged ability to detect terminals connected to Starshield, the military version of Starlink designed with enhanced security features, notes the report.

βοΈDmitry Medvedev:
"Trump has roughly bent the global trading system over the table by imposing duties on nearly the entire world. The consequences will be global. Counter-tariffs will be imposed on goods from the United States. Old supply chains will be broken, but new ones will form.
And what about us?
Russia barely does any business with America anyway, or with the EU, for that matter: nearly all trade has been sanctioned. But we are still developing, and at a decent pace: for the first quarter of 2025, growth stands at about 3%. So, no need for knee-jerk reactions. According to Lao Tzu's immortal advice, we should take a seat on the shore and wait for the enemy's corpse to float by. In this case, the decaying corpse of the EU economy."
