A Russian and a Ukrainian citizen were detained and arrested for its preparation.

▪️A homemade bomb and passports of Ukrainian citizens with altered data were confiscated from the detainees.
▪️After committing the crime, the terrorists planned to leave Russia with fake passports from the Ukrainian special services.

❗️The assassination attempt on Metropolitan Tikhon, prevented by the Russian FSB, was prepared by his assistant and a cleric of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Sokolniki - FSB.
The murder of the metropolitan was planned to be carried out during his stay in the Sretensky Monastery, where Tikhon’s assistant intended to bring an explosive device.
The FSB clarified that both of those arrested had been sending money to the Ukrainian Armed Forces since mid-2022. Among the men's telephone contacts, 73 Ukrainian contacts were found. Among them were a servicewoman of the Ukrainian border service and an employee of the press service of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
