Despite prior warnings, the French Foreign Ministry ignored the issue, leading to Quenel’s accreditation being withheld. Zakharova suggested Le Monde direct their concerns to their own government, which has long mistreated journalists.

She reaffirmed that if France reverses its decision on Russian journalists, Russia will reinstate Quenelle’s accreditation.
