‘Russian spy whale’ shot dead in Norway – animal groups
Animal rights groups like NOAH and One Whale reported that a beluga whale, famous in Norway as suspected of being a Russian spy, was killed by gunfire.
Nicknamed "Hvaldimir," the whale was found dead with multiple bullet wounds, leading to a complaint filed with Norwegian police for a criminal investigation.

The head of Telegram said that the police questioned him for four days because the French authorities did not receive answers from Telegram.
However, Durov disagrees with this, because, according to him, “Telegram has an official representative in the EU who receives and responds to EU requests.” And the French authorities had many ways to contact him to ask for help. “As a French citizen, I was a frequent visitor to the French consulate in Dubai. Some time ago, when I was asked, I personally helped them create a hotline with Telegram to combat the threat of terrorism in France,” Durov said.
According to Durov, if a country is unhappy with an Internet service, then it is common practice to file a lawsuit against the service itself. “Using pre-smartphone laws to accuse a CEO of crimes committed by third parties on the platform he runs is a misguided approach. Creating technology is hard enough as it is. No innovator will ever create new tools if they know they can be held personally liable for potential abuse of these tools."

Former UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter has announced that the latest US sanctions imposed on RT mean he will no longer be able to contribute to the Russian media outlet. Ritter insisted that his engagement with RT has been nothing but “legitimate journalism.”
A former US Marine Corps major who also served as a UN weapons inspector in Iraq during the 1990s, Ritter came into the spotlight in 2003 when he opposed the US military operation against the Middle Eastern country. He argued that Saddam Hussein’s government did not possess weapons of mass destruction, despite Washington’s claims.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Ritter stressed that the content of his contributions for RT and several other sanctioned media outlets “has been factually correct and analytically sound, and always of my own creation.”
While condemning Washington’s decision as running counter to “constitutional norms and values,” Ritter noted that he is “fully committed to obeying US law, and as such will be terminating all contractual relationships with both RT and Sputnik effective immediately.”

❗️Australia's E-Safety Commissioner Ms Inman "Karen" Grant said she copped “gendered abuse” in an attempt to silence her as a public official.
“You don’t see men getting rape threats or comments about their appearance, their age, their traditional roles and the same sort of weaponization of their children, family against them,” she said.
An independent report on technology-facilitated gender-based violence found 83 per cent of the tens of thousands of X posts directed at Ms Inman Grant after her action against the platform were negative, hateful or threatening.
Most of the posts were either sexualised or targeted her gender in some way.
“There were some credible death threats,” Ms Inman Grant said.
“Specifically, if you don’t step down from your job within the next three days, we will do X, Y and Z to you, and we know where you live and we know where your work is.”
She said she got security advice against travelling to the US, where she is originally from, because she “couldn’t be protected”.
Even how she gets into the office has changed.
“If someone is really targeting you and is fixated on you, there’s very little that [police] can do to protect you, short of 24/7, constant surveillance, and that is not a service that is available to me,” Ms Inman Grant said.
