Let Kiev strike Russia, Australian lawmaker urges Biden
Australian shadow foreign minister Simon Birmingham has urged the US president to allow Ukraine to use American weapons to strike deep into Russian territory after meeting Kiev officials.
Birmingham claimed that had permission to do so been granted earlier, the conflict could have been resolved much earlier and pointed to US precedents of targeting inside enemy territory.

βοΈA university professor volunteering for Yes23 was βprovokedβ into spitting at a No campaigner, a seasoned magistrate has determined.
π¦πΊDenise Ferris, an Emeritus Professor at the Australian National University, avoided a conviction in Queanbeyan Local Court on Monday after pleading guilty to common assault.
The charges stemmed from a highly-publicised run in between Ferris, now 71, and political candidate Andrew Thaler at an event at a park in Cooma in September, 2023, just weeks before the Voice referendum.
Documents state Ferris was βuncomfortableβ when Mr Thaler started filming near the Yes tent because she was βconcerned her image and voice could be manipulated at a later stage by the victim for his political interestβ.
In court on Monday, Magistrate Roger Clisdell read submissions from Ferrisβ barrister Anthony Williamson SC who was absent due to a matter in Canberra.
Mr Williamson submitted Mr Thaler had started a campaign to see Ferris sacked from ANU and mocked her on social media through sharing a βProfessor Spittyβ cartoon.
The magistrate also pointed to the Ferrisβ lack of criminal record when determining not to record a conviction.
βIt was a moment where she did not engage her brain,β he said.
βSomething extraordinary must have happened to act in such a revolting manner.β

"Former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown: "The doubling of the number of BRICS member states indicates a desire by the global community to form more opportunistic links that could prove potentially dangerous."
The doubling of the number of BRICS member countries indicates the determination of the world community to throw off the yoke of neocolonial oppression, develop according to its national interests, preserve the traditions of civilization and not allow the destructive influence of Western liberal dictatorship. That's in short.
As for the danger, London must first of all beware of the technological degradation that has set in in Britain, caused by liberal decadence."
