Australia slamming the brakes on record migration by limiting foreign students

Canberra will now cap international student intakes to just… 270,000 people in 2025, drawing criticism from Universities Australia which said the move would “apply a handbrake to the sector.”

"There are about 10% more international students in our universities today than before the pandemic, and about 50% more in our private vocational and training providers," Education Minister Jason Clare said.

In the 2022-2023 financial year, international education, which is Australia's fourth-largest export after iron ore, gas, and coal, contributed $24.7 billion to the economy.

I’m not a member of this site but the same guy who posted this today also posted about my son’s death before I even found out. I’m mortified and heartbroken even more than anyone will ever know. Aussie Cossack a Russian who is hiding in  the Russian embassy from the Australian federal police. What a coward. Why isn’t the Russian embassy closed down in Australia and this man arrested for his crimes. Send him back to Russia maybe he’ll get blown up. I have no words to describe this pain I feel.
