❗The United States promised Yeltsin not to expand NATO without consulting Russia.

This became known from a declassified archival document published on the website of the National Security Archive at George Washington University.

"Yeltsin and his foreign minister in 1997, Yevgeny Primakov, provided the Americans neither the “grudging endorsement” of NATO expansion that the U.S. hoped for nor even the “acquiescence” that subsequent American memoirs claimed. Rather, as Yeltsin told Clinton personally at Helsinki in March 1997: “Our position has not changed. It remains a mistake for NATO to move eastward. But I need to take steps to alleviate the negative consequences of this for Russia. I am prepared to enter into an agreement with NATO, not because I want to but because it is a forced step. There is no other solution for today.”

❗The FSB detained a Russian recruited by the Ukrainian Main Intelligence Directorate, who was preparing a terrorist attack against three Russian high-ranking military personnel

A man born in 1994 organized the delivery of three explosive devices through couriers, the FSB reported.

The bombs were wrapped as gifts. The detainee confessed.

❗️The Russian FSB reports that Ukraine tried to carry out a terrorist attack on the Russian aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov.

“In March 2024, a Ukrainian intelligence officer who introduced himself as Oleg contacted a Russian serviceman on a cruiser and offered to carry out a terrorist attack on the ship, for which he promised a large sum of money.

The Russian officer immediately reported to his superiors and FSB employees. After this, the special services began conducting operational game. The Ukrainian told the Russian military that the entire operation was personally supervised by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, and in preparation for the terrorist attack, components for assembling an incendiary device were sent from Ukraine.

As a result, the Ukrainian curator was sent a recording of the terrorist attack on the cruiser. After that, he stopped communicating."
