🇷🇺The concept of “compatriot” is regulated by the federal law “On the state policy of the Russian Federation regarding compatriots abroad” dated May 24, 1999 N 99-FZ, according to which:

🇷🇺Compatriots are persons born in the same state, living or having lived in it and possessing signs of a common language, history, cultural heritage, traditions and customs, as well as descendants of these persons in a direct descending line.

🇷🇺Compatriots abroad are citizens of the Russian Federation permanently residing outside the territory of the Russian Federation.

✅Compatriots are also recognized as persons and their descendants living outside the territory of the Russian Federation and belonging, as a rule, to peoples historically living on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as those who have made a free choice in favor of spiritual, cultural and legal ties with the Russian Federation, persons whose relatives in a direct ascending line previously resided on the territory of the Russian Federation, including:

✅Persons who were citizens of the USSR, living in states that were part of the USSR, who received citizenship of these states or who became stateless;

✅Immigrants (emigrants) from the Russian state, the Russian Republic, the RSFSR, the USSR and the Russian Federation who had the appropriate citizenship and became citizens of a foreign state or stateless persons.

Former Royal Marine found dead after being charged with espionage in China

A former Royal Marine Matthew Trickett, 37, who was charged with spying on Hong Kong activists in the UK has been found dead in a park.

The investigation continues, it comes after Trickett appeared in court last Monday alongside co-defendants Chi Leung Wai, 38, and Chung Biu Yuen, 63. The trio were accused of carrying out surveillance on Hong Kong pro-democracy activists living in the UK.

He was travelling in the three-helicopter Presidential convoy, and was in one of the two choppers that reached their destination safely:

There was fog on the ground, but not in up the air where we were advancing with the helicopters. However in one small compacted area, there was a small patch of clouds above a cliff. In terms of height, this cloud was on the same height as our flight’s height.

It was there when the now-martyred helicopter pilot, who was also the commander of the fleet, that told the rest of the pilots to ascend above the clouds.

We were 3rd, behind the president’s helicopter. We came above the clouds, we advanced for approximately 30 seconds. Our pilot suddenly realised that the main helicopter carrying the president is missing."

He only described what he could see, described to us what he saw, e.g. surrounded by trees. I asked him about the condition of the others, the Ayatollah replied that he’s alone and couldn’t see anyone else and he’s alone."
