Nissan Surprises the World with an Affordable, Tech-Loaded EV: Meet the N7

Just when we thought Nissan would spend the next decade quietly tweaking CVTs and adding artificial engine sounds to its hybrids, they’ve thrown a curveball. At the Shanghai Auto Show, Nissan unveiled the all-new N7, an electric sedan that’s both compelling and budget-friendly.

Yes, it's partly a product of Chinese collaboration—sharing its platform with the Dongfeng eπ 007—but the N7 is shaping up to be a real contender in the EV space.

🔋 Affordable EV Range Starts at Just $16,400

Nissan revealed that the entry-level N7 510 Air will start at 199,900 yuan (around $16,400). For a little more, the 510 Pro starts at 129,900 yuan. All three variants offer a claimed 510 km (317 miles) of range, powered by a 58 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery.

🔋 Need More Range?

For longer distances, buyers can upgrade to a 73 kWh LFP battery in either the N7 620 Pro (139,900 yuan / $19,200) or N7 625 Max (149,900 yuan / $20,500). These trims boast an extended 625 km (388 miles) of range—though that’s under the CLTC standard, which tends to be optimistic.

📏 Bigger Than the Maxima

At 193.5 inches long, 74.6 inches wide, and 58.5 inches tall, with a 114.8-inch wheelbase, the N7 is slightly larger than the outgoing Maxima—particularly in width and wheelbase—meaning more space, especially in the back.

🚨 First Look: The All-New Jeep Compass is Almost Here!

Jeep is gearing up to unveil the next-generation Compass in Europe, but thanks to some early leaks, we’ve already got a sneak peek—and it’s looking seriously bold. 📸

🔷 Sharper. Boxier. Better.
This new Compass breaks away from its softer predecessor with a tougher, boxier design and rides on the advanced STLA Medium platform by Stellantis—shared with vehicles like the Peugeot 3008 and Citroen C5 Aircross.

⚡ Multiple Powertrains. Total Flexibility.
Jeep is going all-in on electrification. The upcoming Compass will be available as:

💚 e-Hybrid
🔌 Plug-in Hybrid
⚡ Fully Electric

Early shots show a lime green version, likely the EV, with an “e” badge on the tailgate. There’s also a rugged white version that could be the Trailhawk trim, equipped for adventure.

🔋 Serious Electric Power
If the Compass borrows from the Peugeot e-3008’s electric setup, expect up to 321 hp from dual motors and battery choices of 73 kWh or 97 kWh. And yes—AWD is likely to stay true to Jeep’s off-road DNA.

🏭 Coming Soon (But Not Everywhere at Once)
Production kicks off in Italy in late 2025. North America will have to wait a bit longer, with delays due to tariffs pushing launch timelines into the future.
