The Coat of Arms of the Canada Company. Founded in 1825 by Scottish novelist John Galt, the father of Sir Alexander Galt, one of the Fathers of Confederation, its aim was to help settle and develop Upper Canada/Ontario. Its arms, containing the symbols of Anglo-Canadians such as the thistle, rose and shamrock, were sometimes mistakenly depicted as the Coat of Arms of Canada in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Its motto "Non Mutat Genus Solum" roughly translates to "the country does not change the ancestry" or "a change of soil does not change one's race."

A Very Happy Father’s Day to all Fathers and Grandfathers. Here’s a little poem for today:
MY FATHER
His form, combining health and ease,
And features form'd by Heaven to please—
His face is placid. In his mien
Meekness and Charity are seen.
If you could view his polish'd mind,
Religion's self is there combined
With grace, and truth, and manly pride,
Which to Religion are allied—
You'd find, if you his life could scan,
"God's noblest work, an honest man."

The failure of Brexit ten years on is why I have no interest in the Alberta or Quebec separatist movements.

What I find so disturbing about the "sustainable development" agenda is the vitriol which paid activists direct towards anyone who questions the idea they are saving the world.
This aggression leads me to believe this agenda won't simply entail having more electronic cars and solar panels everywhere. It will be heavy-handed managerial micromanagement of every aspect of our lives. It'd be like the height of COVID, but in perpetuity.
I am not qualified to make any claims related to climatology or the ecological effects of rising global temperatures. However, I'm convinced that giving this amount of power to such psychopaths would be worse than whatever problem they claim to be solving.
