Tiktok seems to make it easier/harder to scroll depending on content displayed

I’ve had this sneaking suspicion that TikTok changes how scrolling behaves depending on what’s on the screen.

For example, when an advertisement is playing and I try to scroll away, the first 2–3 swipes often do nothing or fail to scroll fully to the next video. If it happened occasionally, I’d assume it was just a touchscreen issue, but I’m noticing it consistently with ads.

Similarly, with advertisements that contain multiple images you can swipe through horizontally, trying to scroll up and away will often cause as a horizontal swipe instead, moving to the next image or activating the link.

None of these issues ever seem to occur for actual content.
