Everyone loves Ajigaike Pond. It is a man-made reservoir in Hakone, created by Germans who came to Japan during World War II but were unable to return to their fatherland due to the Allied blockade of the sea, in their spare time. This is a photo taken at the time of construction (The German flag is mosaic processed).
Lieutenant Bruno Dieg, a German naval officer who visited Japan on a U-boat, stayed in Hakone, and married the daughter of an innkeeper there. The recollections of the woman who became his wife have survived to this day, follow her recollections to find that the lieutenant "had landed in North America" on a certain top-secret mission.
We congratulate Fujimori, a great hero, on his release. He's free for the first time in 16 years.
