Before and After the Modernists

The Gaiety Theatre in London was demolished in the 1950s.

Where once there stood beauty, now there stands ugliness. This is not an isolated example but a trend in every city across the civilised world over the past half century.

Beautifully designed to sit comfortably with the old castle. The interiors are sumptuously detailed by the finest craftsmen. The new stair hall (pictured) is the bond between old and new.
