On April 18 1996, Israel attacked a UN compound that hosted hundreds of Lebanese refugees and UN soldiers, killing 106 and injuring 116 more, half of them children.

On 24 May 1948, after Haifa fell to Israeli militias and Arabs were expelled, a post was made in the Palestine newspaper by a Father "Moustafa Shalabi", the post reads:
"To my son, Mahmoud Shalabi, the director of the "Arab Unity" school of Haifa, we beg you to tell us about your whereabouts, so we could find you and visit you, relieve us as fast as possible with a post in newspapers.
Your father, Moustafa Shalabi."
Their was never a response, after the fall of most of Palestine, everybody was looking for everybody, every Palestinian was stranded, while their homes were occupied.
