… He recently had his student visa approved and was en route to the U.S. this weekend when he was stopped in Italy, banned from traveling to the US because of Trump's recent order. This student has been vetted, he is just trying to advance his education. I need him for this project. This is a lose-lose-lose situation - he loses, I lose and the US loses. Last week, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on immigration, which affects the visas and potentially other travel documentation for nationals of seven countries: Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen.

While it is unclear exactly who will be impacted and how, the Society of .... (SO...) would like to affirm its commitment to and support of all its members and the global scientific community. SO... recognizes that ...... around the world are contributing daily to the understanding of the role of chemical and biological agents on animal, human, and environmental health. As such, the Society remains steadfast to providing forums (in-person and online) for discussion, collaboration, and dissemination of knowledge.

One of the guiding principles of SO... is to have “diversity of representation in all activities of the Society.” It is a tenet that SOT leadership intends to uphold, even in difficult times. The leadership of SO...will act to ensure that the Society continues to include and support all its members, regardless of nationality or religion.
