به طور کلی با توجه به حجم زیاد ایمیل هایی که به استادها می رسد، فرصت زیادی برای خواندن ایمیل ها توسط آن ها وجود ندارد. بنابراین سعی کنید ایمیل خود را طوری آماده نمایید که در متنی کوتاه و مختصر تمامی نکاتی که می تواند شما را از دیگران متمایز کند و توجه استاد را جلب کند در بر گیرد. بهتر است این نکات را برجسته نموده و در ابتدای متن ایمیل به آن اشاره کنید. مثلا یک معدل بسیار بالا یا یک نمره زبان خیلی خوب یا تعداد مقالات شما می تواند نشان دهنده تمایز شما با سایرین باشد و باعث جلب توجه استاد شود.
