I know this is very late in the process but a funding slot just opened up. I have an opening for a fully funded graduate student interested in pursuing a PhD in the Tufts #Geosystems Program to start in September 2020. The perspective student should hold an engineering degree from an accredited university and must be interested in material behavior. Experience in experimental methods is helpful but not a requirement. The position will combine both Teaching and Research Assistant responsibilities. The research will be focused on laboratory measurements of sedimentary materials although the exact topic will depend on the interest of the successful candidate. I am particularly interested in secondary compression, velocity anisotropy, and extensional loading. The student will become a member of my Geofluids research team (http://www-udc.ig.utexas.edu/geofluids/) and work in the Tufts Advanced Materials Laboratory. Interested candidates should send a resume and personal statement to John.Germaine@Tufts.edu.
