Sea Level Elevation - These are the Steps to Find Out How Many Feet You are Above Sea Level Using the USGS National Map:

1) Click on the link below and type in your address in the search field at the top left-hand corner.

2) When you see your address appear in the box below click on it.

3) Your house will have a circle on top of it, make sure you slide the map so this circle above your house is towards the top of your screen.

4) In the top right hand corner you will see a green box with 3 horizontal lines in it, click it.

5) Icons will appear vertically down the right side of your screen, you need to click the very last one which is called "Spot Elevation," which is going to be difficult if you're doing this on a phone. You will need to click the X to get rid of the "Search Result" box at the bottom of your screen, then you will see an icon that looks like a + inside a square at the very bottom, this is the "Spot Elevation" icon, it's going to be mostly covered behind an opaque area of the map, but this is the button you need to click. So you have to try to tap on that very slim Green part of the icon at the top that is not behind the opaque area of the map. You will know if you have hit it successfully because a white box will pop up from the bottom of your screen that will say "Click on the map to retrieve elevation."

6) Once you have successfully clicked on the "Spot Elevation" icon, click on that circle that's above your house that should be located at the top of your screen if you followed step #3. Try to click in the middle of the circle as best as you can. Using a stylus helps a lot.

7) Once you have clicked in the middle of the circle as best as you can, a box will appear at the bottom of your screen called "Saved Elevation Points." It will show you a chart that lists your Latitude, Longitude, Feet & Meters. The number that is listed underneath "Feet" is how many feet you are above sea level.

8) If you want to redo it because you didn't click in the center of the circle to the best of your liking, you can do this by clicking the green button that says "Clear All Points" and then clicking on the button that says "Clear." This will bring you back to the beginning where you will just have that white box that says "Click on the map to retrieve elevation." This is where you can try to click in the middle of that circle above your house again.

*It took me 3x to get it where I liked it when I did this on my phone. This whole thing will be much easier on an iPad/Tablet or a Computer/Laptop.
