In the grand scheme of things, we are all victims. Soy, antinutrients, plaque, and viscous chemicals run ample in our blood. It manipulates the very code that makes us, us. We are being weakened, made docile for whoever yells the orders next. Nothing is truly safe to eat anymore unless you exile yourself to a forest and physically choose and kill what enters your stomach β or know someone who does that. I often look at pretty images and get carried away, thinking that this world is beautiful, forgetting that we have surrounded ourselves in the ugly and the weak and left behind all things beautiful and strong in the name of progress and cheap comfort. I look at images, videos or views that reflect the natural beauty of the world and sometimes for a second forget how fucked everything around is.
Sometimes the right image with the right little song playing in the background is enough to remind you that maybe things aren't that bad, only for you to see something that shatters that dream on the very next day.
And to once again bring me to the conclusion that beauty stems from nature and the simplicity around observing it. Not because everything in nature is perfect and devoid of suffering, but because nature gets rid of the weak and the ugly to make space for the strong and the beautiful. That way the ugly isn't kept around, suffering and polluting and degrading the beautiful.
So the dream can't be shattered.

They believe that humans are obstacles in the path of progress, and expenses as if we are soulless machinery. They only value technical efficiency and advancement, rather than human values like freedom and dignity. They can claim that they support human values all they want, but when they have to pick, they will always choose progress, no matter the cost.
