"Environmentalism has never fit comfortably within liberalism. Under liberalism, man is commanded to subdue the earth, to bring nature under his control. The liberal does not care about the earth, and this is reflected upon in the nakedly cynical way the environment is used as a political weapon. When environmentalism can be used to centralize power, it is used; when it can't, it is ignored."

"The industrial system will not break down purely as a result of revolutionary action. It will not be vulnerable to revolutionary attack unless it's own internal problems of development lead it into very serious difficulties. So if the system breaks down it will do so either spontaneously, or through the process that is in part spontaneous but helped along by revolutionaries"

58 years ago today, Chris McCandless was born. Few people encompass striving for an adventurous lifestyle and rejecting the modern way of living as much as him. Truly an inspiration to us all. May his soul rest in peace 🕊️.
"No longer to be poisoned by civilization he flees, and walks alone upon the land to become lost in the wild".
"Do not hesitate or allow yourself to make excuses. Just get out and do it. You will be very glad that you did".
"The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun."

As I was buying vegetables today I couldn't help but notice all the people (me including) getting "paper" bags laced with 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰, to try and "help" the environment. As if big corporations don't cause a disproportionately large amount of environmental damage and use these "greener" products and solutions to shift the blame on the consumer....

"And yet, the words spoken by
the forest industry about the logging, preservation and growth of state
timber reserves was swallowed whole by the majority — the majority,
that is, of those people who do not explore the woods or even gaze at
them from their car windows: the majority of those people who believe
any green area that is not a field to be a forest. All the media have swallowed the official lies. [...] Like Goebbels
used to say, any claim will be taken to be true if repeated often enough."

Remembering Martin Luther
(1483-1546)
Yesterday marked the anniversary of the death of Martin Luther, who passed away on February 18, 1546. While he is primarily remembered for sparking the Protestant Reformation, his influence stretches far beyond the walls of the church and into the very fabric of modern society and our connection to nature.
Interestingly, Luther’s worldview also held a deep, grounded appreciation for the natural world. He often spoke of nature as a "second book". Seeing the hand of a creator in every tree and creature.
"Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree."
It serves as a timeless reminder of hope and environmental stewardship, the idea that we have a responsibility to care for our planet and invest in the future, even when the outlook seems uncertain. Luther’s "apple tree" remains a powerful symbol of quiet, persistent action for the sake of the earth.

Local communities once did have autonomy, but such autonomy becomes less and less possible as local communities become more enmeshed with and dependent on large-scale systems like public utilities, computer networks, highway systems, the mass communications media, the modern health care system.
Also operating against autonomy is the fact that technology applied in one location often affects people at other locations far away. Thus pesticide or chemical use near a creek may contaminate the water supply hundreds of miles downstream, and the greenhouse effect affects the whole world.
The system does not and cannot exist to satisfy human needs. Instead, it is human behavior that has to be modified to fit the needs of the system.
This has nothing to do with the political or social ideology that may pretend to guide the technological system. It is the fault of technology, because the system is guided not by ideology but by technical necessity.

"The protector of life bases his arguments on sound reasoning. Scientists across the world are unanimous in their verdict: if economic growth
continues at the current pace, human civilisation will collapse within a

I am guessing most of you have seen the situation with Iran and Israel.
I don't want to try to fear monger, or make anyone panic, but I quite literally think we are headed towards either a technocratic dystopia or the incoming collapse of the system.
Either there is a huge war, shit hits the fan, and it all leads to the collapse of the system as we know it, or if Iran and the rest of the countries opposing this new world order go down, the situation is not looking Bright.
Whatever the case is, get ready for big changes, be ready to survive if the lights go out, be ready to escape if the system makes it's control over the world tighter, be ready to resists the oncoming dystopia, or survive in a world without modern Convinces.
