Just a biblical reminder: Tithing isn’t giving, and giving isn’t tithing. They’re different biblical concepts entirely.

The tithe was specifically part of the Old Testament Law to support the temple, priests, and Levites (Leviticus 27:30, Numbers 18:24). If you’re not living in the land of Israel and giving agricultural produce directly to Levitical priests (which don’t exist anymore), you’re not tithing biblically.

The New Testament never commands believers to tithe, and the tithe is never connected with churches. Instead, we’re called to generous, cheerful giving (2 Corinthians 9:7) as the Holy Spirit leads - not under legalistic requirements from a covenant that has been fulfilled in Christ.

That’s why Bible-based churches today use terms like “giving” or “donations” rather than “tithing.”

If you’re fooling yourself by pretending to tithe by giving just 10% when you could give more, you’re robbing the Lord of what He has blessed you with. It’s all His anyways.

Remember the widow in Mark 12:41-44? Jesus didn’t praise the Pharisees who gave their obligatory 10% out of pride and legalism (the same pride as some low-iq Pharisee kids on telegram). He praised the poor widow who gave everything she had from a heart of devotion. Her gift wasn’t a tithe (it was 100% not 10%)—it was out of love.
