Spirituality isn't something other worldly. It's as much a part of this realm as our physical bodies are. Our spirituality is as racial as our biology. Every group has a connected Ethnic spirituality that is as ancient as their people's origin. For Europeans it is our ancient Folk practice of reverence for Nature and veneration of our ancestors. Our ancient Ethnic Folk traditions are rooted in observance of reality and natural law and expressed through myths and ceremonial practices. Our indigenous Ethnic spirituality is not universal, but is unique to us and is part of a healthy identity as a people.

↟ Vårdagjämning - Spring Equinox ↟

🌱 Idag infaller vårdagjämningen i Skandinavien som enligt gammal nordisk tradition räknas som vårens första dag, när tjälen i marken släpper och naturen sakta fylls av pånyttfödelse. Nu går vi in i vanernas tid - den feminina delen av året förknippat med livgivande, fruktbarhet och solen, Sunna.

🌱 Vårdagjämningen ger förebud om vår och förr i Skandinavien var det ett av årets viktigaste dagar att uppmärksamma, man tände stora brasor likt vi gör än idag vid Vanadisblotet och Valborgsmässoafton. Arbetet följde årstiderna och när våren kom övergick arbetet i gårdarna i en energirik period - det är nu som vårbruket med plöjning, harvning, gödsling och sådd inleds. Vid vårdagjämning var det viktigt att läsa tydor (tolkningar av bland annat djurens beteende och naturens egenskaper) för att förutspå vädret, vilket var viktigt... fortsättning i kommentar nedan ⬇️

Ostara is celebrated on the spring equinox around March 21. This feast marks the beginning of the summer half of the year. It is named after the Goddess Ostara (Anglo-Saxon Eostre), who was an integral part of Heathen Germanic culture that the Christians adopted as their own spring feast which was adapted for the Paschal holiday, and was converted to the Christian "Easter".

Her name is related to the Germanic words for “east” and “glory”; she was the embodiment of the springtime and the renewal of life. She is the main deity symbolizing grace, blessings, abundance, protection, fertility, and the sun’s coming.

The hare is strongly associated with the goddess Ostara with many myths explaining why. A popular one includes the goddess finding a wounded bird and healing it by turning it into a hare as it could no longer fly. The hare retained its egg-laying abilities and laid colored eggs. It then gave these eggs to the goddess as gratitude. The hare represents the graciousness of the goddess and fertility, given how many young ones they have. It is nocturnal and thus associated with the moon.
