Did the Vikings/Norse Have A Celebration like Halloween?

Halloween (Samhain) is of course an ancient Celtic holiday, but with Halloween approaching many may share the common question whether the Norse had a celebration similar to Halloween? The answer is yes, the Norse did celebrate something similar to the Celtic Halloween through their Blóts. There were two main Blots around Halloween, the "Álfablót" and "Dísablót". Generally, "blot" means blood and is the term for Viking sacrifice. It was the worshipping ritual dedicated to the Norse gods and some mysterious creatures.

Alfablót was a time to honor the ancestors. To the Scandinavians of the time, elves were typically associated with cemeteries, said to be living around them, and it’s even suggested that elves were the incarnation of a human soul. Therefore, offering sacrifices to the elves was a way to honor ancestors. Unfortunately, little is known about the rites performed during Alfablót since it was done in such secrecy. However, the celebrations usually took place at farmsteads, and the woman of the family was in charge of managing the festival, which to the Norse was not uncommon.

Dísablót was also among the famous blot of the Norse. Unlike the Alfablót, the Dísablót was celebrated in the public and observed by many people. The ceremony was carried out and led by the woman or mother. The Dísablót was dedicated to the "disir". The word "Dis" means "lady" and the "disir" is the plural form. The celebration happened during the Winter Nights which were known as the vetrnætr which means "three days prior to the winter". The Dísablót is believed to have been held to wish for the upcoming season and to honor the "disir" who might be the Valkyries, Freyja, or the Norns.

We see so much talk of white solidarity and "white well being", yet the trouble of infighting between our people persists and shows no sign of getting better. The center point cause of this is because of the weapon being used against us. Our spirituality. This is a spiritual war we are in. We have been separated spiritually from who we are as a people.. We have been given multiple spiritual and ideological paths where we used to have one. As a people in our ancient past we have had disputes about territory and resources but not about who were were as a people.

This was the plan devised by the enemy to destroy us. This is how we have been subdued. Our people have been introduced to so many foreign spiritual paths and ideologies we no longer know, or can agree who we are. In a healthy people there should be no debate about who your people are spiritually, no confusion, you should know instinctively at your core who you are.

Saying we can put spirituality aside and come together on race alone will not work because part of your race is who you are spiritually. They are connected. Who you are spiritually and racially/ethnically are the same thing.

This is the weapon, the wedge that our enemy has placed between us. There can be no coming together racially without a coming together on some level spiritually.

So it doesn't do any good to say just put religion/spirituality aside, it can't be done.

You'll notice that as we infight over spirituality, the enemy has maintained their same spiritual and ethnic identity from ancient times to the present.

We have to accept that this is a spiritual war and as long as we remain separated from our Ethnic Spirituality, we will continue to fight while the enemy continues to win.

The fact that so many *REPUBLICANS* believe that democracy is a good thing, or that the country was even founded as a democracy rather than a constitutional republic shows how ignorant of civics most people are. The vast majority of the problems with our system of government comes from the fact that we have slid away from the type of government we were meant to have, and have now more or less become a democracy. Our founders knew that democracy was, in fact, a terrible form of government and that is why they started a Republic instead. 🙄
