There were a few smart surveillance kids when I was in high school, but they had to hunt them down to send them to me, because I was in a lot of honors classes, and they needed kids who could keep up there. But the majority of them were not “academically inclined.” At the time, I was baffled they didn’t even try, and would end up in classes in high school with tests on how pocket change would add up. Now, looking back, they would go home, and their parents were probably dragging them on surveillance gigs in the car for a few hours, they probably spent a few hours listening in houses nearby, and on top of it all, they knew the academics would not affect their life path, since it is all corrupt, and the smart kids were going to be sabotaged.
