It is very much like the child sacrifice thing. I have a degree in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology, and I had a whole course just in Genetics. There is no reason a population would evolve a trait of sacrificing/killing their firstborn. That is the definition of dysgenic, and should be selected against by nature.
