Speaking from the perspective of a specialist in biochemistry, hybrid breeding program would be strange, for a few reasons. One, it would require that evolution of life which began completely differently, maybe on different planets, would coevolve toward similar structural endpoints that could be intermixed. We do not see that now, where different organisms often have chains of signals, which do not interchange.
For example to increase bone growth in a young animal, you have growth hormone. It travels through the blood and binds to a receptor on a cell surface, the receptor changes in response to the hormone, and the part of the receptor which extends through the membrane of the cell, into the inside, changes and alters signal molecules inside the cell, causing them to float off and turn genes on and off. However Cow Growth Hormone fails to bond to human growth hormone receptors and activate them, and vice-versa. Putting the Human Growth Hormone gene in a cow would be pointless, and putting a receptor for Bovine Growth Hormone in a human would similarly do nothing. You might be able to add a gene for human growth hormone and its receptor to the cow, but you would also have to make sure the signals inside the cell which the receptor interacted with were there too, and that the genome of the cow would be responsive to those final signals.
Some biomolecules do get conserved in structure, like Somatostatin, IIRC but that is on a planet where we all developed together in one family tree, and it was a smaller peptide, and for some reason it just never evolved into various different flavors in different species.
If true aliens were hybridizing, it would, as far as I can see imagining it, be quite complex a procedure, requiring a very complex, purposeful, and directed interweaving of multiple entire signaling systems, as a whole from beginning to end – including entire suites of ligands, receptors, and intercellular signaling cascades, as well as the interaction of the endpoint of those cascades with the genomic regulatory systems, and even regulatory mechanisms controlling the expression and release of the ligands to begin with. And those signal pathways all interweave with still other, completely different signaling systems, so you would kind of have to transpose massive swaths of our biology to keep everything self-balancing. Just inter-mating would probably not do it, unless they shared some evolutionary history with us. If they were us, a million years from now, then all bets would be off. Similarly, if they engineered us based off their biology, then it might be plausible. But to my ear, just off the top of my head, a hybrid breeding program between biologically advanced organisms which evolved from completely different starting points, sounds cool and X-file-ish, but the practical aspects would make me think it would not work or be worthwhile, unless we have some ability they cannot get any other way, or they are just shotgunning into the dark and hoping for an experimental hit.

That is not to say the aliens might not engineer organisms which look like mixes of them and us, and sell them as hybrids as a psyop to try and form closer diplomatic ties or something, based off the hybrids, in theory, being half-human. Of course there can be a lot about their science, or the way they are doing it we do not know too, and who knows, maybe they are just bored and have literally nothing else they have not already done, so you can never say never. But with AI, and them being millions of years ahead of us, it is more likely to me they would simply tweak their own biology more precisely to elicit the exact changes they would want, rather than just have Jorelle bang the Earth-Monkey, which probably should not even yield a viable offspring, and see what she gives birth to if it makes it to term.
It is interesting in that lately we are bombarded with things, where you are like, “Where the fuck did this one come from?” or “How the fuck can that one be real – and on top of the last ten revelations, none of which should have been real either?” CIA did 9/11 with Mossad? Tons of Americans knew? Surveillance is watching all of us all the time through our walls, like creepy ghosts living in our houses with us? The rich are all pedophiles, and have their staff making literal baby-jerky to eat as they live lives off of the US tax receipts, 90% of which are just being stolen? And we cannot do anything about it as for the last 100 years, elections have been completely fake? And now aliens are hybridizing with us? All of them seem too bizarre to be real, and now we find they may be slipping a fake by us here with that last one, based on biological constraints.
Is it possible any of the others are fake? Like if somebody grabbed control of the machinery to launch a coup, would they feed out info indicating those they are coup-ing are baby-eaters? Or if it is still the old boss running things and nothing has changed, might they create these types of psyops as they clean out their upper ranks to streamline operations, just to occupy us and explain why they are executing all the people who used to run things.
